Great to hear about the proposed redevelopment of Abbotsvale Playground. Around £100K from the Capital Programme, plus external funds could make a great local facility.
As part of the Play Strategy, Abbotsvale has been identified for improvement works in 2026/27. I welcome thoughts on what the community would like to see in the space. Thoughts please?
W&F Council are also planning to carry out consultation with neighbouring families and regular park users to ensure the project reflects local needs and aspirations.

Help shape the future of your waste and recycling collections.

We’ve launched the next stage of our consultation on future waste and recycling services in Westmorland and Furness.

Some 3,000 people took part in our initial Community Conversation engagement in November and December and that feedback has shaped a range of options we’re now consulting on.

We now want to know your thoughts on options such as:
✔ Sizes of containers
✔ Wheelie bins
✔ How often your waste and recycling would be collected
✔ Green waste charges.
