MADDELA, Quirino – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Quirino Field Office recently awarded ₱343,400 in livelihood aid to a local MSME under the Adjustment Measures Program (AMP). The funding’s geared toward upgrading equipment, shortening production cycles, and boosting productivity to drive sustainable local growth.

The check release enables 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘃𝗶𝗰 𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘆 in Maddela to acquire modern equipment and train its workforce. This intervention's expected to improve efficiency, upgrade product quality, boost capacity, and expand its market reach, making fresh baked goods more accessible to far-flung communities.

𝗗𝗢𝗟𝗘 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗱𝗮 𝗘. 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘀 underscored that empowering local enterprises sustains jobs and drives regional growth. She emphasized that the AMP reflects DOLE's commitment to building resilient businesses that can adapt to economic challenges and create quality jobs.

Meanwhile, 𝗗𝗢𝗟𝗘 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗰𝘁𝗼𝘀𝗼 𝗖. 𝗔𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻 highlighted that the assistance demonstrates DOLE's continuing commitment to empowering local enterprises as engines of employment and inclusive development.

"At DOLE, we believe strengthening small enterprises protects workers' families. Through the AMP, we're helping businesses modernize, stay competitive, and sustain decent jobs. This aligns with Secretary Francis N. Tolentino commitment to job creation and enterprise resilience for every Filipino worker," Agustin said.

Implemented under 𝗗𝗢𝗟𝗘 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼. 𝟮𝟰𝟭 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟮𝟰𝟭-𝗔 (𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰), the AMP protects workers and businesses from economic shocks. By funding modern equipment and training, it helps MSMEs boost productivity, stay competitive, and preserve quality jobs.

HAPPENING NOW | The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office No. 2 conducts its two-day 2026 Mid-Year Performance Assessment and Re-Planning Exercise on July 21 and 22, 2026, in Solana, Cagayan, to review its first-semester accomplishments and set its direction for the remainder of the year.

In her welcome message, Assistant Regional Director Atty. Remedios T. Vegim-Teves compared the activity to a GPS that recalculates the route whenever a traveler takes a different turn, emphasizing the need for the Office to pause, reflect, and determine better ways to reach its goals.

She reminded the participants that every reported accomplishment represents an individual or community served, including workers whose rights were protected, jobseekers who found employment, families assisted through livelihood programs, and workplaces made safer through DOLE interventions.

Regional Director Jesus Elpidio B. Atal Jr. stressed that the assessment must go beyond the presentation of figures and targets, as its more important purpose is to honestly evaluate the Office’s performance and identify the challenges, priorities, and necessary adjustments for the second semester.

He encouraged the participants to take the assessment seriously and use the findings as the basis for re-planning and retargeting to further improve the delivery of programs and services.

As he prepares to take on a new assignment with DOLE-Cordillera Administrative Region, Atal also thanked the personnel of DOLE Region 2 for their support and contributions throughout his years of service in the region.

He expressed pride in turning over the Office to the incoming Regional Director with capable and dedicated employees, emphasizing that the accomplishments of DOLE Region 2 are the collective achievements of the entire workforce. #
