Corpus Christi Water is proud to advance the Wastewater Reuse Program. Once complete in mid-2027, this $107.5 million project will produce approximately 16 million gallons per day of reclaimed water, putting an existing resource to work and easing demand on the City of Corpus Christi's drinking water supply.

This week, CCW partnered with students from Por Vida Academy for hands-on instruction in Basic Water Operations, combining classroom learning with a behind-the-scenes tour of the O.N. Stevens Water Treatment Plant. 💧

Through Texas AWWA's SETH program, a free, TCEQ-approved course for Texas High Schools, these students are gaining the skills needed to earn their Class D Provisional Water Operator License.

🎉Congratulations to Stephen Emerson, who has officially retired after 41 years of service to the City of Corpus Christi! 🎉

Stephen officially wrapped up his final day as Work Coordinator at Choke Canyon Dam. He has worked for more than four decades with both the Gas Department and CCW, helping keep essential services running smoothly. Looking back, Stephen shared how much the City and CCW supported him. His parting words of wisdom for new employees: "Work hard, don't take anything personally, and the City will take care of you."

As for the toughest part of his decades-long career? Stephen joked that the single most challenging assignment was simply preparing for retirement.

Stephen, thank you for 41 years of dedication and hard work!
