🙏🏾Praying for the family, loved ones and people inspired by Rev. Jessie Jackson’s life and legacy. I reflected on his words below, as I prayed and seek God for guidance in the significant work still before us.

“Wherever you are tonight you can make it. Hold your head high, stick your chest out. You can make it. It gets dark sometimes, but the morning comes. Don’t you surrender... In the end faith will not disappoint. You must not surrender… We must never surrender. America will get better…

Keep hope alive. Keep hope alive. Keep hope alive. On tomorrow night and beyond, keep hope alive.” ~ Rev. Jessie Jackson

🙏🏾Lord, strengthen our hearts. Let Your power and peace rise more within us—greater than fear, greater than opposition, greater than weariness—with great victory. Increase our wisdom, our strategy to outwit the enemy, and our courage so we do not faint in the fight for justice, equity and truth to prevail. You are our confident hope—even when the weight feels too heavy or the road to justice too long. We will not surrender our hope or ridiculous faith in you. We will rise and remain on our post. Carry us forward with clarity of purpose in our life call and protection, as you do exceedingly and abundantly more than we can ask for or imagine.💪🏾

❤️🖤💚Family, Friends and Community Partners,

Join me, today! We can do this!

✊🏾Please help support the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio and those we serve by donating through my fundraising page, which we launched in celebration of Juneteenth! We will continue to prosper in the same spirit of empowerment and liberation felt on that first Juneteenth celebration as we stand strong together through the persisting challenges that impact us all.

👏🏾Even a small donation will help me achieve my goal to raise $500 this week! The process is fast, easy, and secure. Thanks so much for your support and love for our community.

📢 New Role, Same Mission! 🚀

🌟I am excited to share that I have stepped into my next chapter as the Executive Director of the Holloman Center for Social Justice (CSJ) at the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio ! This incredible opportunity allows me to continue the impressive work our outstanding team has led dismantling systemic barriers and advancing racial and social justice for communities across the region.

🤗Cincinnati holds deep meaning for me—it’s my birthplace and where my journey in advocacy and community building began. It’s also where my mother needs me right now, with an awesome village of support, as we navigate her season of healing. Though my role has changed, my commitment to justice and equity remains steadfast. The challenges we face—whether in the City of ,the or beyond—are interconnected, and our movements must be as well.

💜As I share this news, I reflect on my service in Oakland and the honor of being part of history as the first father and daughter councilmembers elected to serve our city—with my father being the second longest serving member in Oakland’s 170+ year history. We’re blessed by over forty years nurtured and grown greatly by family, friends, and life-long connections in Oakland’s rich soil. Thank you! We pray the work and seeds of love we’ve sown and watered throughout the Town, in District 7, and across the Bay Area are rooted deeply to enrich many others for generations to come.

🥰It has been an amazing, life-changing journey. I am proud to share my 2021-2024 District 7 Impact Report attached, highlighting some of the transformational work we accomplished together and the work still ahead to move East Oakland Forward.

💜Thank you, Team D7!!! One of the greatest joys of my work was the fantastic team I worked alongside to effectuate change, advocate for/with our community, and magnify impact!

🗣️We represented over 65,000 residents, thousands of workers, and businesses in the largest geographic district. We authored and sponsored over 100 legislative measures, secured significant funding for critical initiatives, and created Oakland’s first citywide policy framework for equitable service delivery/response in each department. From day one to the very last day, we did this together and finished strong, prioritizing the people who entrusted us with this incredible opportunity!

🫂To my phenomenal District 7 Team (AKA Team Peace)—thank you for your dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment to our community. You poured your hearts into our work 24/7 and my vision to move East Oakland Forward. Your passion shaped our foundation, built lasting partnerships, and secured deeper investments for our community. You showed up daily, working hard to deliver a more equitable Oakland for all of us. I love, honor, and am so grateful to you!

💙May God Bless you more! Wishing you all success on your journeys—remember, there is strength in numbers, and always lead with integrity, accountability, fearless faith in action, and the power of love!🥰💪🏾

💜It was a joy to honor and celebrate the incredible dedication of our City of Oakland District 7 Neighborhood Council Chairperson volunteers. These leaders embody the resilience and commitment that make Oakland strong—working tirelessly to improve our neighborhoods, one block at a time—with love and care.

Neighborhood Councils are the backbone of grassroots governance, fostering collaboration between residents, city staff, and the Oakland Police Department to enhance public safety, quality of life, and civic engagement.

Thank you to our NC Chairs, Deputy City Administrator DeVries and Team, city staff, and community members for your unwavering efforts to make Deep East Oakland a place where every voice matters and every action counts.Join your NC and attend the 2025 meetings: https://www.oaklandca.gov/topics/neighborhood-councils

🤗Much love to , and the Owners and Operators Group (Deacon Louis Knox and Bill Crotinger)for hosting an amazing community celebration to honor me and my father with presentations from our faith leaders, community partners, city leaders and elected officials!

Last month, we honored D7 in so many ways, including:

✨ Unveiling the commemorative street renaming of Hegenberger Road as Larry E. Reid Way & renaming the East Oakland Sports Center in honor of my father—the second longest-serving councilmember in Oakland’s 170+ year history.

✨ Celebrating our seven Neighborhood Council Chairpersons for their dedication, including a donation to each group.

✨ Serving 400+ seniors & single parents at our Annual Holiday Food and Resource Drive.

✨ Recognizing the East Oakland Senior Center’s Food Distribution Program Volunteers for their outstanding work feeding our elders for twenty years with a donation to the program.

💪🏾D7, we did it! Your love, support & commitment to progress shaped our legacy and work to move East Oakland forward. I couldn’t have done this without you.

🎊Wishing you a blessed, joyful & prosperous 2025! I love you!
