A few rounds of strong to severe storms are possible tonight. The 1st round will be capable of damaging winds, hail, and maybe a tornado across far NE Kansas & NW Missouri. The 2nd round will be a line of storms capable of strong winds that will move through the area late tonight/Thu AM. Storms will gradually weaken as the move eastwards Thursday morning.

Thunderstorms are expected this evening and overnight across northwestern Missouri and northeastern Kansas. Some of those storms will be strong to severe with large hail and damaging winds the most likely hazards. A tornado or two is possible in far northwestern Missouri and far northeastern Kansas.

⚠️ Here’s the latest severe weather outlook for today. Confidence is high that severe storms will occur across the state from 3️⃣ - 🔟pm with the primary threats being large hail and damaging winds. A few tornados are also possible. Please remain weather aware, adjust your plans to avoid being out when storms hit, and have multiple ways to receive alerts!

Weather system in the 4-Corners area will produce mountain snow in the Rockies, critical fire weather threats in the south/central Plains, and severe storms with large to very large hail and damaging winds in the central Plains. A low-pressure system in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast will produce showers.

Isolated storms are expected this afternoon across E KS & W MO. More widespread storms are expected overnight. A few storms may be strong with hail & gusty winds. Another chance of strong storms is expected Sat afternoon and evening across central MO.

A severe thunderstorm watch is now in effect through Midnight for portions of northeastern Kansas and northwestern Missouri, including the Kansas City metro.

Severe thunderstorms possible Tuesday afternoon and evening in northern Missouri. After sunset an additional line of storms expected to develop along a front moving through the area. Be sure you have a way to receive warmings this afternoon.

Another round of severe storms ⛈️ is possible Tuesday into Tuesday night. The best chance for high-impact, intense storms will be central and northeastern Missouri. As always, pay attention to your local forecast and have multiple ways to receive alerts!
