Grab a seat, we're having a garden party!

Slow down and take a moment to eat, drink, and chat all things 250. Join park rangers for a morning or afternoon garden tea party, during the Celebrate America event happening alongside the Jour de Fete celebration. While you enjoy your tea and snacks, you'll have the opportunity to chat with park rangers and other visitors about the ideas explored in the Declaration of Independence and how they shape your life.

There will be one tea party from 12:30 PM -1:30 PM on Saturday, August 8th, and one from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM on Sunday, August 9th. Tea Parties are limited in size and reservations are required. Contact the park by calling 573-880-7189 or email [email protected] to make your reservations.

Join us on Saturday, August 8th at 2:00 pm in the backyard of the Jean Baptiste Vallé House for a special presentation by Bobby Norfolk. Bobby is an Emmy award winning speaker, author, storyteller & teaching artist. He will be performing "Through The Eyes of York," a one-man theatrical show about the only African American member of the Corps of Discovery, the official name of the band of explorers whose epic journey across the continent became immortalized as the Lewis and Clark Expedition.

Are you looking to get a little creative during this year's Jour de Fête? Join us August 8th and 9th as we continue to add to our community artwork projects.

Stop by the Ste. Genevieve Welcome Center and explore what freedom feels like to you and your community through our community tapestry. Select a piece of fabric that best reflects your feeling and weave it into the tapestry. While you're there, take a look at the You 250 exhibit and consider how the values of the Declaration of Independence shape you and your community.

At the Jean Baptiste Vallé House, join us to decorate a canvas. Paint, draw, and collage to express where you find inspiration in your life. These canvases will join the exhibit on display in the Ste. Genvieve Welcome Center.

I'm not going to miss my shot! 📸

We're gearing up to continue the 250th celebration and are looking for people to help us capture the moment. Volunteer to be a photographer at Celebrate America on August 8th-9th and catch all of the best shots of the event!

Photos taken by volunteers will not only record the community celebration of a major national milestone but will also contribute to the You 250 exhibit that is ongoing in the Ste. Genevieve Welcome Center!

If you want to lend your perspective, you can find more volunteer information and register at go.nps.gov/stge-vip.
