Habitat For Humanity - University of Tulsa Chapter

Habitat For Humanity - University of Tulsa Chapter Habitat For Humanity seeks to eliminate poverty and homelessness around the world. Groups that register will be provided with some cardboard and duct tape.

Here are some of the events that we put on over the academic school year:

Shack-a-Thon

Shack-a-Thon is a national event designed to raise awareness for the homeless by encouraging student groups to spend a night in a cardboard shack. Groups are encouraged to bring as much additional cardboard as they need. Competitions are usually held for the best shack built by organizations and non-organizati

onal groups. Build Days

This is what habitat is all about! We have been honored with the ability to work on one house a semester. This year the builds will start in September and last for 10-12 weeks. Students meet in the ACAC parking lot ready to leave at 7:45am and carpool out to the build site. Anyone is invited to come and campus organizations are invited to get involved by reserving a build day. For more information, contact [email protected]. Holiday Fundraisers

We hold three holiday fundraisers throughout the academic year; one each for Halloween, Christmas/Winter Solstice, and Easter. Exactly what we do for these fundraisers is based on the creativity and sweat-equity of our student volunteers, and thus changes from year to year. If you're interested in helping with a fundraiser, please contact one of our officers.
