At a recent candidate forum, Merrick was asked why he was running for the NC House. His response?

“I’m running for the state house now because they don’t let us print money on the school board.”

Democratic Representative Bryan Cohn allegedly threatened Oxford’s mayor on two separate occasions.

According to WRAL, Cohn allegedly told the mayor, “You’re f*cking with the wrong man,” after being informed that he would have to pay fees at the NC Hot Sauce Festival.

That's just crazy.
