Celebrate 2026 with an event full of science, creativity, and feathered fun! 🐦

Join us for a live bird banding demonstration, a paper birding scavenger hunt, recycled bird-building crafts, and hands-on learning about birds and conservation.

This event is designed to elevate Black birding experiences and create more welcoming outdoor spaces, but everyone is welcome to attend. Birds connect habitats, communities, and ecosystems. And, who knows, you may even discover a new favorite species while you’re here.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to our country.

As many of us gather outdoors with family and friends, it’s also a good reminder to care for the places we share. Whether you're spending time in a park, near the harbor, or enjoying nature with loved ones, help keep these spaces clean and beautiful for future generations.

A little respect goes a long way — for people, for community, and for the places that connect us all!

Zugunruhe is a German term for "migratory restlessness" in birds, describing the intense, instinctual urge to move or migrate.

This inner drive causes captive birds to flutter, hop, or act anxiously during migration seasons, driven by changing photoperiods and internal clocks.

Migration is in full swing, and the second week of May is peak bird movement in Maryland! Warblers, orioles, and more are passing through and Masonville Cove is a great place to spot them.

Snap a photo and tag me. I love birdwatching almost as much as I love catching trash!

Ahoy, young explorers! Ever wonder why flowers are so bright and colorful… or what all those different parts actually do? Let’s dig in!

Join us at Masonville Cove for a free hands-on nature adventure where we’ll take a walk to spot real blooming flowers, share stories and learn why flowers exist, discover the parts of a flower and how they work, and create your very own flower craft to take home.

It’s science, creativity, and fresh air all rolled into one blooming good time. Perfect for curious minds and future scientists — just don’t forget to register! Come for the flowers… stay for the discovery.

It’s Endangered Species Day, and a good time to let everyone know that protection works!

Because of conservation efforts, stronger environmental laws, and cleaner waterways, several local species have made incredible comebacks from risk of endangerment like osprey and bald eagles. Both once hit hard by pollutants and habitat loss, these iconic bird species have rebounded across Maryland, and can often be spotted right here at Masonville Cove!

These recoveries didn’t happen by accident, they happened because people cared and took action. So if you see a bald eagle soaring over Masonville Cove, or an osprey feeding along the estuaries, consider yourself lucky to be able to share a space with them!
