This year we are handing over a lot of the work and responsibilities to Darcy. He is an experienced and enthusiastic addition. One of his main wishes is to add overnight camping experiences. He has this wonderful and authentic chuck wagon,which has just arrived.

We are now closed for Trail Rides,so many other tasks to catch up with.It has been a challenging summer,but we survived,had great helpers and many lovely guests.

Our biggest group to date.A relief to have cooler temperatures,33.8c at the moment.This was a River Ride,the North Thompson River is raging after our heat wave,so no beach to sit on,but quite spectacular to see.

Took 3 cows and 1 new calf down to join the herd this morning.Were expecting a commotion,but a non event.The boss cow can be seen digging out one of her "pits" in the distance.A sign of her supremacy.She now has dirt all over her face.

One of our cows was missing yesterday afternoon,when I went to put them in the corral for the night.We are busy with calving,and much easier to keep an eye on them overnight.
Ed and I walked all over until dark,no sign of cow,so didn't have a very restful night.She was located this morning down in our lower hayfield, surrounded by interested yearlings,and the proud mother of a nice bull calf.She wasn't that interested in coming back to civilization, but they are back where they should be.Too many predators, possibly ,around to leave them there.She had gone through/ over 4 fences,and made quite a trek.
