Good afternoon,

With just under one year until the 2026 BC local government elections, several media outlets have reached out asking what my intentions will be next year

After 5 terms, 17 years - I look forward to finishing this term and passing on the gavel to a new Mayor and Council.

Serving as Mayor has been a privilege, and I’m so very grateful to all of you whom have supported me over the years, as well the support received from my (failed) federal run this past Spring.

There has certainly been some challenging times, however many highlights as well.

I thank all of the media outlets for reaching out: Island Social Trends, CHEK, Times Colonist, CFAX 1070 and our local Sooke News Mirror.

Council has a number of items underway, and I look forward to a strong finish here in Sooke!

I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to be a candidate with the NDP for the incredible riding of Esquimalt Saanich Sooke.

Many thanks to my incredible team of volunteers, supporters, friends and family.

📍Saanich - be aware that due to construction, the April 28 voting station at Tillicum School has changed to Tillicum Mall (Upper Level). Please bring your voter card and ID to the new location on April 28. For more information, please visit elections.ca.

📍Sooke - BC Hydro is conducting pole replacement work M-F on Highway 14 until mid-May. If you vote in Sooke on Monday, please give yourself extra time to get to the polling stations on April 28!

I am proud to support the CUPW STTP pledge - the only candidate in Esquimalt Saanich Sooke to do so!

Canada Post must maintain and create good jobs, with benefits and fair wages, benefiting communities in which postal workers live. There should be no gigification of existing or future jobs at Canada Post.
