WE DON’T HAVE TO LOVE THE PRESIDENT—BUT WE MUST NOT LOSE THE NATION

Bola Ahmed Tinubu became President of Nigeria with 36.6% of the votes.
That is a fact.

It is the lowest winning percentage since 1999.
It happened because the opposition—who had previously come together—chose fragmentation over strategy, ego over unity, and ambition over cooperation. And in a three-way split, 36.6% became enough to win.

But that number tells a deeper story:
Tinubu came into office with more resistance than acceptance, more suspicion than goodwill, and more emotional hostility than any president we have had in this present democratic era.

Some disliked him out of political bitterness.
Some out of tribal pain.
Some out of religious sentiment.
Some because their preferred candidates lost the math, not the mandate.

For many, Tinubu became president before they were emotionally ready for him to be president.

Yet he stepped in and made decisions that no one—not one of our past presidents—had the courage to make.
Tough.
Unpopular.
Painful.
Necessary.

Not decisions aimed at applause, but at resetting a country that has been living on borrowed time.

And still, people don’t like him.
They may never like him.
That may simply be the burden of this moment in history.

Some presidents rule in times of comfort.
Others rule in times of surgery.
Tinubu walked into the theatre, not the ballroom.

He will likely be remembered as the president Nigerians did not love—
even if he becomes the president who puts us permanently on the path of economic independence and national capability.

And that is why this moment is dangerous.

Because the seeds of discontent that were planted before he took office did not die.
They are being watered daily—
by mischief makers,
by bitter losers,
by tribal chauvinists,
by religious extremists,
by desperate actors who would rather see the country collapse than watch it succeed under someone they don’t like.

Some from the South who believe their “turn” was stolen.

JUST IN: "You Belong To The Zoo" Fayose to Obasanjo in a 'thank you' message after OBJ attended his 65th birthday.

In a 'thank you' message to former President Olusegun Obasanjo for attending his 65th birthday, former Governor Ayodele Fayose has attãcked the former leader of Nigeria saying he belongs to the zoo.

Fayose sent the message to Obasanjo through SMS this evening, according to Kehinde Akinyemi, the former President's media aide.

Read Kehinde Akinyemi's statement below:

Obasanjo receives 'thank you ' letter from Ayo Fayose

Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has received what he called a thank you letter from former Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose.

The "Thank you" note by SMS to the former President, which was made available to newsmen in Abeokuta by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi on Monday reads:

"Dear Baba Obasanjo, I trust this meets you well.Your coming to my birthday party, I appreciate except for your very irresponsible comments at your age. You went so low but am not surprised because someone once said you are supposed be kept away in the zoo. Sincerely thats where you belong.

"I kept quiet or did not reply you at the function so that the world will know the difference between a sane and a mad man that you are.It is also obvious that you have also lost your sanity OR should I say is the heightened stage of dementia. Not to worry Baba., I shall set the records straight in due course of time.Lastly I shall appreciate if you return my money since you publicly admitted you received but Dangote brought u back.

"Your leopard will never change his skin", the letter reads.

The former President replied tacitly: "Ayo, thanks for your "Thank You" message which undisguisedly revealed who and what you are, unchanged and unchangeable. Your money has been sent back through Foluso Adeagbo who brought it and in the same bag as he brought it unopened by me".Obj."

Cameroon Presidential Election: A French show without Biya

As Cameroon enters the decisive week before the 12 October presidential election, political fatigue and waning trust in the 92-year-old Paul Biya regime have created uncertainty about the country’s future.

On 4 October, a conference in support of opposition candidate Issa Tchiroma Bakary was held in France, organised by the French branch of his party, the Cameroon National Salvation Front (CNSF). Officially presented as an initiative of the Cameroonian diaspora, the event nonetheless highlighted France’s ongoing interest in the country’s political landscape.

Observers suggest that Paris may be preparing for a post-Biya era, quietly building new diplomatic relationships as Cameroon approaches what could be a defining transition. Analysts point out that Tchiroma, a long-time political figure, represents continuity and stability — qualities that may appeal to international partners wary of abrupt change. Unlike Senegal’s dramatic political shift in 2024, Cameroon’s opposition figures have largely emphasised steady reforms and the preservation of strategic partnerships.

In Cameroon, however, public opinion remains sharply divided. Some critics view Tchiroma as too close to France, a perception that could limit his appeal among younger, anti-establishment voters. Consequently, France appears to be treading cautiously, focusing on cultural and economic diplomacy rather than overt political involvement.

Diplomatic sources in Yaoundé note that France continues to engage with a range of political actors, including opposition voices such as Maurice Kamto, who, though excluded from the race, retains considerable influence. These meetings are described as part of France’s broader outreach and do not necessarily indicate endorsement of any candidate.

What seems clear is that France’s role in Cameroon’s political transition is evolving — from direct engagement to quiet observation. Whether this shift will foster gen

In 2004 , PDP had 32 govs.....
Termed " the largest party in Africa...

The master Strategist.... Asiwaju of the universe was the only opposition gov in the whole of southern Nigeria....

Any other person would have simply defected to PDP to " attract federal project "

The lion of Bourdillion even fought the FG, who seized Lagos LGAs allocation... To weaken Tinubu grip in Lagos....

Instead of going to A*o Rock to beg for the release of the LGAs fund, like Ade Bendel of Osun and his family did...

Tinubu revolutionized Lagos revenue to reach the threshold of the only state in Nigeria that can survive without federal allocations...

If there is one thing I have learnt from Tinubu leadership " Challenges Sharpen his Skills"

Today PDP practically have only one state in the whole of Southern Nigeria as was AD in 2003...

Don't ask me about Osun, Rivers and Bayelsa....

Use your head...

In the whole of Northern Nigeria they have three and half.... Don't ask me about plateau....

If Tinubu want all the 36 govs in Nigeria to be APC members it will happen before 2027...

The Senate is 2/3 APC...

House of Representatives almost same...

Same for chairmen, Houses of Assembly and others...

Almost all the political structure in Nigeria are under APC....

Tinubu did it in Lagos for 28 years....

Those who said he can't reenact it in Nigeria are all hiding behind one Kraysman call Sowore to lead them to A*o Rock....

If Tinubu was a white man .... He will have a special place in political science and philosophy books.... globally.

The young men that should be learning from Nigeria greatest master strategist of all time are looking for give away from one yeyebrities to another....

To lead a family is not child's play....

But to rise from the only opposition gov in the whole of southern Nigeria to become the political leader of 32 govs... Is worth studying for so many generations in all Nigeria schools....

IN JOS, PRESIDENT TINUBU ASSURES NORTHERN CHRiSTIANS OF FAIRNESS,

AS HE PAYS TRIBUTE TO LYDIA YILWATDA, MOTHER OF THE APC CHAIRMAN

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday declared that he has a mission to unite Nigerians and assured Christian Communities in Northern Nigeria of his administration's commitment to ensuring fairness among all religions in the country.

President Tinubu gave the assurance during his meeting with some Christian leaders at the Headquarters of COCIN Church in Jos, Plateau State.

"I have a mission to unite this country, ensure its prosperity, and we are making progress," the President said.

The President, while paying tribute to the mother of the APC National Chairman, Nana Lydia Yilwatda, who died at the age of 83, said, " In our family, we have a strong Muslim background, and I married a Christian, a pastor for that matter, and I have never forced her to change her religion".

He urged the clergymen to have faith in his administration. According to him, as leaders, we have the responsibility to manage religious issues for the benefit of all.

The President affirmed his administration's commitment to tackling insecurity in the country, especially in the fight against terrorism and banditry.

'We are defeating bandits, and we will defeat them. We will deal with them and combat the farmers-herders clashes,' the President said.

The president stated that his administration is revamping the economy for the benefit of all Nigerians.

President Tinubu described the late Nana Lydia Yilwatda as a devoted mother during the funeral prayers.

"The history behind this church is rooted in faith with deep acceptance in the Lord and tradition. I have been to Jos before. When we were coming here, Governor Caleb Muftwang showed me one of the bungalows, the house of Ambassador Yahaya Kwande. During the SDP days, we met there to decide the fate of MKO Abiola.

" Today, I am grateful that I am alive and to God be the glory to be the President o

Former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, has said he would not hesitate to withdraw from the 2027 presidential race if a younger, more vibrant and acceptable candidate emerges as candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He disclosed this in an interview with BBC Hausa service on Wednesday, October 1.

The presidential aspirant noted that his interest in the 2027 race is not about personal ambition, but about providing a credible alternative to rescue Nigerians.

The former VP charged younger Nigerians to actively participate in politics, stressing that he would fully back them if picked to contest for the presidency.

Atiku denied claims that he was desperate for the seat of the president, declaring that he was only interested in “rescuing Nigeria from the people that have held it hostage.”

He said: “Besides, that is one of the reasons we set up ADC, which I am a member of. We couldn’t achieve that with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) because the APC government in power has decided to use some leaders of the party to frustrate efforts of having a strong opposition that could challenge the government.

“As the day went by, the crises in PDP were growing, and the hope of resolving it was speedily vanishing because some senior members of the party were allegedly being used by the government to further destabilise the party, and we could see that in their actions and utterances.

“I could have taken some firm decisions to fix the party if I was the chairman or secretary of the party or someone that listens to me was the chairman or secretary. Sadly, the people occupying those positions have different interests that are mostly personal to them.

Ex-Senator Elisha Abbo in Police Custody Over Alleged R+pe of 13-Year-Old

Former Adamawa North lawmaker, Senator Elisha Abbo, has surrendered to the Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja following allegations that he r+ped a 13-year-old secondary school student.

According to the victim’s parents, the alleged as+ault took place on June 29, 2025, at Abbo’s residence in Katampe, Abuja. They further claimed that after the incident, Abbo repeatedly tried to silence them by sending money to the girl’s father.

In a startling twist, the family alleged that Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, popularly known as Binani and a former 2023 Adamawa governorship candidate, visited their home to dissuade them from going public with the case.

Police sources confirmed that Abbo is currently being held at the FCID headquarters, where investigators are interrogating him. “The matter is under thorough investigation, and no stone will be left unturned,” a senior officer told reporters on condition of anonymity.

This is not Abbo’s first brush with sc@ndal. In 2019, he made headlines when a viral video showed him assaulting a woman at a s+x toy shop in Abuja. He also faced allegations of attempting to bl+ckmail a married woman with a s+x tape, further damaging his reputation.

The latest case has drawn strong condemnation from civil society groups, child rights advocates, and women’s organizations, who insist that justice must prevail. The Executive Director of the Child Protection Network (Lagos Chapter) described the case as “a test of Nigeria’s cr+minal justice system,” warning authorities not to succumb to political pressure.

Since losing his Senate seat in 2023, Abbo has remained in the public spotlight largely for controversies rather than political achievements. His arrest has already sparked heated debate across social media, with many Nigerians demanding swift prosecution.

As of press time, neither Abbo nor his legal representatives have released
