Over the past two weeks, the 168th MMB has demonstrated unwavering readiness and operational excellence by executing complex medical operations during Noncombatant Evacuation Operations (NEO), showcasing its ability to integrate with host-nation civilian hospitals for the first time; enhancing tactical proficiency during the Ulchi Freedom Shield (UFS) exercise through battle drills and simulated operations; and innovating with a successful bilateral medical logistics operation alongside the United Kingdom Royal Navy using the T-150 UAS. Moreover, the battalion has advanced "Fight Tonight" readiness with emergency response exercises, underground Role 2 operations, and collaborative blood drives that bolster alliances and enhance capabilities. Committed to healthcare delivery, the battalion has provided vital behavioral health services, vision care, and food safety training, directly supporting the well-being of Soldiers and partners. Additionally, team-building events like the Warrior Adventure Quest and a UFS cookout have strengthened morale and camaraderie, while engagement with AMEDD leaders prepares the unit for the Army of 2030. The 168th MMB stands ready, confident in its capabilities, and poised to continue setting the standard for excellence in Army medicine.

On Thursday, September 11th, USAG Daegu hosted a ceremony and memorial 5K in recognition of the 24th anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Many units participated, some of them including 168MMB Powerhouse Battalion and USAG Daegu Fire & Emergency Services.

The ceremony began with a panel of speakers orating the significance of the attacks, paying honors to the victims and to the sacrifices of the responders who laid their lives down on that tragic day through prayers and a moment of silence. Afterward, a Korean survivor of the attacks on the World Trade Center spoke, recounting his personal experience of the attacks, the loss of coworkers and friends, and the shock experienced by his family spurred by international coverage of the attacks. Following his words, he laid a basket of flowers and a wreath in remembrance of the attacks.

As the 5K commenced, soldiers of the Powerhouse Battalion individually upheld the legacy of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice as they ran, adorning dog tags printed with the names and assigned units of responders who fell.

Stronger Together!

Today, we commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the signing of the Korean War Armistice Agreement, which was July 27, 1953. We honor the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering resolve of the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Korean allies who stood shoulder to shoulder in defense of freedom on the Korean Peninsula. The Armistice not only ended active hostilities, but laid the foundation for a strong and enduring U.S.–ROK alliance that continues to safeguard peace and security in the region.

Hundreds of U.S. Army units took part in the war; 10 divisions and regiments to include:

1st Cavalry Division

2nd Infantry Division

3rd Infantry Division

7th Infantry Division

24th Infantry Division

25th Infantry Division

40th Infantry Division (now California National Guard)

45th Infantry Division (now Oklahoma National Guard)

5th Regimental Combat Team (attached to several divisions)

187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team (strategic reserve / combat operations)

Six divisions remain active today.

We remain steadfast in our mission — ready to Fight Tonight — in honor of those who served before us, and in commitment to those we defend today. Pacific Victors!
