Things that make me happy - the list goes on.

Proud to share that we secured an additional $29.4 million in state reimbursement funding to support the upcoming construction projects at Mary T. Murphy and Mary R. Tisko Elementary Schools.
This was a true team effort alongside Superintendent Dr. Chris Tranberg, COO Blaize Levitan, First Selectman Josh Brooks, and Reps. Comey and Rader, and we were thrilled to see it cross the finish line this session.

These funds will deliver significant tax savings for Branford while helping create state-of-the-art learning environments for our youngest learners. Investing in modern, high-quality schools for Pre-K through 4th grade students is an investment in their future, their success, and the strength of the community for generations to come.

Memorial Day is not defined by picnics, parades, or ceremonies, it is defined by remembrance. Even on this rainy day that resulted in many canceled activities, we pause to honor the brave Americans who gave everything in service to our country. May we never forget their sacrifice. 🇺🇸

I joined our Lieutenant Governor, Deputy Commissioner King of the DOT, First Selectman Josh Brooks, Economic Development Director Perry Maresca, as well as Reps. Rader and Comey to celebrate the $800,000 Community Connectivity Grant for Branford’s Pathways Improvement Plan. These grant dollars will bridge connectivity and improve accessibility on Ivy, North Ivy, Cedar, North Main and Rose Streets. The sidewalks will provide for safe passage in the downtown area and improve the economic vitality of the community.

The sun was shining for the groundbreaking for the new and improved Memorial School in Middlefield serving RSD13. This is a project years in the making made possible through the dedication of community members, the Boards of Education, town leaders, and building committees all of whom have worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life.

Most recently, together with my colleagues in the delegation, we were proud to secure an increased state reimbursement rate to ease the burden on local taxpayers and help move this important project forward.

This beautiful new learning space will serve our youngest students from Pre-K through 5th grade. This is the place where children will not only learn and grow, but build community, form lifelong friendships, and create memories that will stay with them for years to come. A wonderful investment in the future of our kids and our towns and I was thrilled to be a part of this ceremony - I can’t wait for the ribbon cutting!

Eight years later: more experience, more wrinkles and apparently...reading glasses. Grateful to receive the unanimous endorsement to be the democratic candidate for CT's 12th state senate district. The eyesight has faded a little, but the fight didn't!

Oh what a night! Over 60 delegates packed the room last night, coming together to unanimously endorse me as the Democratic candidate for the 12th District State Senate seat.

I’m deeply grateful for the trust, support, and energy in that room. This work has never been about politics for politics’ sake, it’s about people. It’s about protecting our rights, strengthening our communities, supporting working families and small businesses, and making Connecticut a more affordable place to live, work, and raise a family. As a small business owner and mom, I know the challenges families are facing every day. That’s why I fight for policies that help people not just get by, but get ahead. And right now, meeting this moment and standing up for our values feels more important than ever.

Thank you to every delegate, volunteer, friend, and supporter for your belief in this campaign and in the power of public service. I’m honored by your unanimous endorsement and excited for what comes next. Let’s go!

Happy Mother’s Day to the one who made me who I am and the three who are still shaping who I'm becoming.

Motherhood is so full of love, sacrifice, laughter, worry (lots of this), pride (and so much of this too), and moments that shape us forever. Today I'm thinking of all the moms, grandmothers, stepmoms, chosen moms, and caregivers giving so much of themselves every day and sending extra love to those for whom today may feel complicated or difficult.
