This flower is a Philippine endemic plant, meaning it naturally grows nowhere else in the world. The butterfly resting on it is not just a visitor, for me, it’s a good sign. Butterflies come only when the habitat can support them like when there are native plants, clean air, and enough food. It shows ecological connections being restored (plants → insects → forest life).
My point is forest restoration is not just about planting trees. It’s about bringing back relationships between plants, insects, the land, and components in a forest ecosystem. When an endemic flower blooms and a butterfly finds it, the forest is telling us it’s healing.
