With 63% of the vote in, it appears likely that incumbent mayor of LA, Karen Bass (D) will advance to the general against Spencer Pratt (R). Given LA's significant propensity for electing Democrats, it is very likely that Bass will go on to win another term.
In California, all candidates appear on the same ballot in the primary, regardless of party. If any candidate gets a majority of the vote, they win the election in one go. If not, the top two candidates from the primary advance to the general election.
