These images from today’s Officer‑Involved Shooting serve as a reminder of the very real dangers our officers face every single day. We are extremely fortunate that our officer is in stable condition tonight after being struck in the chest — with the ballistic vest stopping what could have been a far more serious, even deadly, outcome.

We are grateful for the officer’s resilience, the quick actions of responding units, and the community members who continue to stand with us.

Today, LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell joined our LAFD partners for the 23rd annual St. Baldrick’s Foundation event, supporting childhood cancer research.

This longstanding annual tradition brings our community and public safety family together to raise funds, awareness, and hope for children battling cancer.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and donated to this important cause.
