LAWATAN PENANDA ARAS KE LAPANGAN TERBANG SULTAN ISMAIL PETRA (LTSIP), KOTA BHARU, KELANTAN
Kota Bharu, 10 Ogos 2026 – Jabatan Laut Malaysia Wilayah Utara (JLMWU), mewakili Pasukan Projek Meroboh, Membina dan Menaiktaraf Terminal dan Jeti Penumpang, Kargo dan Ro-Ro Kuala Kedah, Kedah Darul Aman, telah mengadakan kunjungan hormat dan lawatan penanda aras ke Pengurusan Lapangan Terbang Sultan Ismail Petra (LTSIP), Pengkalan Chepa, Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
Lawatan ini bertujuan mendapatkan perkongsian pengalaman, pengetahuan dan amalan terbaik berkaitan perancangan pembangunan terminal, pengurusan sistem, penyediaan spesifikasi teknikal serta proses perolehan kelengkapan bagi projek pembangunan terminal baharu. Perkongsian tersebut diharap dapat dijadikan rujukan dalam merancang dan melaksanakan Projek Terminal dan Jeti Kuala Kedah secara lebih sistematik, bersepadu dan berkesan.
Sesi kunjungan hormat telah berlangsung di Bilik Mesyuarat Malaysia Airports Sdn. Bhd. (MASB), Aras 2, LTSIP dan delegasi JLMWU telah diketuai oleh YBrs. Dr. Yasmin binti Mohd Hasni. Delegasi telah disambut oleh YBrs. Tuan Haji Suhaimi bin Abdul Sani, Pengurus Malaysia Airports Sdn. Bhd. (MASB), LTSIP.
Antara perkara yang dibincangkan termasuk perancangan dan penyelarasan pembangunan terminal, keperluan sistem serta kelengkapan terminal, kaedah dan proses perolehan, penyediaan spesifikasi teknikal, penyelarasan antara pemilik projek, perunding dan kontraktor, serta aspek operasi dan pengurusan fasiliti selepas projek siap. Kedua-dua pihak turut bertukar pandangan dan berkongsi pengalaman berhubung pengurusan projek pembangunan infrastruktur pengangkutan, penyediaan kemudahan yang memenuhi keperluan pengguna, aspek keselamatan, pengurusan kawasan terminal serta kepentingan memastikan integrasi antara infrastruktur, sistem dan operasi dapat dilaksanakan secara berkesan.
Program turut disusuli dengan taklimat ringkas oleh pihak MASB serta lawatan ke kawasan terminal, kemudahan VIP/VVIP dan kawasan sekitar LTSIP. Lawatan ini memberikan gambaran secara langsung kepada delegasi berhubung aspek pengoperasian, pengurusan fasiliti dan penyediaan kemudahan di sebuah terminal pengangkutan yang beroperasi.
Turut menyertai lawatan ini ialah wakil SUNISSA Sdn. Bhd. selaku kontraktor serta Arkitek Punca Cipta (APC) selaku perunding arkitek yang terlibat dalam Projek Meroboh, Membina dan Menaiktaraf Terminal dan Jeti Penumpang, Kargo dan Ro-Ro Kuala Kedah.
Lawatan penanda aras ini mencerminkan komitmen JLMWU dalam memperkukuh perkongsian ilmu, kolaborasi strategik serta penyelarasan berkesan antara agensi kerajaan, pemilik projek, perunding, kontraktor dan pemain industri di bawah Kementerian Pengangkutan Malaysia (MOT). Usaha ini juga selaras dengan komitmen Kementerian Pengangkutan Malaysia dalam memastikan pembangunan infrastruktur pengangkutan negara dilaksanakan secara terancang, bersepadu, selamat, efisien dan berorientasikan keperluan pengguna serta industri.
Komitmen tersebut seterusnya diterjemahkan melalui pelaksanaan Projek Terminal dan Jeti Kuala Kedah, yang diharapkan dapat menyediakan kemudahan pengangkutan laut yang lebih moden, selamat, cekap, mesra pengguna dan berdaya saing. Projek ini juga dijangka dapat memperkukuh kesalinghubungan pengangkutan laut, memenuhi keperluan pengguna dan industri serta menyokong pertumbuhan sektor maritim dan aktiviti ekonomi di kawasan utara Semenanjung Malaysia.
Secara keseluruhannya, lawatan penanda aras ini bukan sahaja membuka ruang kepada perkongsian pengalaman dan amalan terbaik, malah menjadi platform strategik untuk memperkukuh kerjasama serta memastikan pelaksanaan Projek Terminal dan Jeti Kuala Kedah mengambil kira aspek keselamatan, kecekapan operasi, kemampanan, integrasi sistem dan pengalaman pengguna seiring dengan aspirasi pembangunan infrastruktur pengangkutan negara.
BENCHMARKING VISIT TO SULTAN ISMAIL PETRA AIRPORT (LTSIP), KOTA BHARU, KELANTAN
Kota Bharu, 10 August 2026 – The Malaysia Marine Department Northern Region (JLMWU), representing the Project Team for the Demolition, Construction and Upgrading of the Kuala Kedah Passenger, Cargo and Ro-Ro Terminal and Jetty, Kedah Darul Aman, paid a courtesy visit and benchmarking visit to the Management of Sultan Ismail Petra Airport (LTSIP), Pengkalan Chepa, Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
The visit aimed to gain insights, knowledge and best practices relating to terminal development planning, system management, preparation of technical specifications, as well as the procurement process for equipment for new terminal development projects. The knowledge and experience shared are expected to serve as valuable references in planning and implementing the Kuala Kedah Terminal and Jetty Project in a more systematic, integrated and effective manner.
The courtesy visit was held at the Malaysia Airports Sdn. Bhd. (MASB) Meeting Room, Level 2, LTSIP. The JLMWU delegation was led by YBrs. Dr. Yasmin binti Mohd Hasni and was received by YBrs. Tuan Haji Suhaimi bin Abdul Sani, Manager of Malaysia Airports Sdn. Bhd. (MASB), LTSIP.
Among the key matters discussed were terminal development planning and coordination, terminal system and equipment requirements, procurement methods and processes, preparation of technical specifications, coordination among the project owner, consultants and contractors, as well as operational and facility management aspects following project completion.
Both parties also exchanged views and shared experiences on the management of transport infrastructure development projects, the provision of facilities that meet the needs of users, safety considerations, terminal area management, as well as the importance of ensuring effective integration between infrastructure, systems and operations.
The programme was followed by a briefing by MASB and a visit to the terminal area, VIP/VVIP facilities and surrounding areas of LTSIP. The visit provided the delegation with first-hand exposure to the operational and facility management aspects, as well as the provision of facilities within a fully operational transport terminal.
Also participating in the visit were representatives from SUNISSA Sdn. Bhd., as the contractor, and Arkitek Punca Cipta (APC), as the architectural consultant involved in the Demolition, Construction and Upgrading of the Kuala Kedah Passenger, Cargo and Ro-Ro Terminal and Jetty Project.
This benchmarking visit reflects JLMWU’s commitment to strengthening knowledge sharing, strategic collaboration and effective coordination among government agencies, project owners, consultants, contractors and industry players under the Ministry of Transport Malaysia (MOT). The initiative is also in line with the commitment of the Ministry of Transport Malaysia to ensure that the development of the country’s transport infrastructure is carried out in a planned, integrated, safe, efficient and user- and industry-oriented manner.
This commitment is further demonstrated through the implementation of the Kuala Kedah Terminal and Jetty Project, which is expected to provide modern, safe, efficient, user-friendly and competitive maritime transport facilities.
The project is also expected to strengthen maritime connectivity, meet the needs of users and industry, and support the growth of the maritime sector and economic activities in the northern region of Peninsular Malaysia.
Overall, the benchmarking visit not only provided an avenue for sharing experiences and best practices, but also served as a strategic platform to strengthen collaboration and ensure that the implementation of the Kuala Kedah Terminal and Jetty Project takes into consideration key aspects including safety, operational efficiency, sustainability, system integration and user experience, in line with the aspirations for the development of the nation’s transport infrastructure.
