Women deserve to be heard when it comes to their health.

We’ve made women’s health a national priority, including investing in endometriosis and menopause care.

Now, we are taking the next step with a new Select Committee on Women’s Health, chaired by Senator Marielle Smith.

It will give women the chance to share their experiences, in their own words, and help shape what comes next from postpartum care to women's pain.

There is still more to do to ensure women get the care they need and it starts with listening.

The hardest stories to tell are often the most important. I’m sharing my experience as a new mother in the hope that women around Australia feel empowered to share theirs. Tomorrow, the Senate will vote on my motion to establish a Senate Inquiry into post partum health care. It’s time for women’s experiences to be elevated, and for their voices to be heard.

We can and must do better. You can read more here.

What an honour to be able to officially open Gidget House Murray Bridge.

While pregnancy and childbirth can be wondrous experiences, they can also be incredibly isolating – dealing with sleep deprivation and the spectrum of perinatal depression and anxiety symptoms that affect far too many pregnant women and new parents.

Our Government is proud to work hand in hand with Gidget Foundation through the services offered by Gidget House Murray Bridge.
