We're just days away from the first Buc-ee's opening in Arizona! 🦫

ADEQ completed it's first inspection over a year ago, and now inspectors have officially completed the final walkthrough ahead of opening day.

The final inspection checks out what's happening under all those fuel pumps. ⛽ To keep the community and environment safe, inspectors ran full diagnostics on the massive underground storage tanks systems.

Here is how the facility passes ADEQ's final inspection:

✅ Inspectors verified the spill prevention system is installed on all UST systems.
✅ Inspectors tested the overfill prevention equipment to ensure they properly function.
✅ Inspectors ensured all monitoring equipment is installed perfectly to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.

Everything is officially functioning properly, compliant, and ready for the opening day crowds!

It’s Waste and Recycling Workers Week, and we want to clear up a major myth: recycling isn't just done by magic machines. Real people sort through your items by hand! 👋♻️

The incredible workers at our local sorting facilities are the first line of defense in giving materials a second life. When the wrong items end up in the bin (like plastic bags, tanglers, or hazardous waste), it puts these workers in danger and can cause entire loads to be sent to the landfill.

ADEQ Community Liaison Brianna G. recently joined forces with the town of Payson for their annual hazardous waste event!

This event gives residents of Payson and neighboring communities a safe, convenient way to drop off household hazardous waste, ensuring it is collected and disposed of properly.
