ACT-UP Boston Emergency Alert
300,000 people living with HIV/AIDS in the U.S. depend on ADAP, (AIDS Drug Assistance Program) to get the drugs we need to stay alive. Twenty states, following the lead of Florida, where 11,000 are in danger of losing their meds when income eligibility changes from 400% of poverty income to 130% of poverty income (this disaster from the DeSantis state government came into effect March 1st and has been temporariy halted but only until June 3Oth (AIDS Health Foundation; WUSF March 13,2026) So-called blue states like Blue Rhode Island and Delaware are also enacting cutbacks, although less harsh (New York Magazine, Intelligencer, March 31, 2026)
