RUME Magazine, a leading luxury travel and lifestyle publication based in Dubai, has named Melote House’s infinity pool at Lepogo Lodges one of the best pool villas in the world, placing it at number 14.

Overlooking a wildlife waterhole, the infinity-edge pool offers a front-row seat to the wilderness, where wildlife gathers to drink, cool off and simply be. Just yesterday, lions were spotted passing by, a reminder that here, the extraordinary is never far away.

We’d like to thank The Rume for this wonderful feature. And while we may be a little biased, we simply can’t get enough of this pool, where the beauty of luxury lies in its seamless connection with the wild.

Recent sightings from the wild landscapes of Lepogo Lodges. 🐘🦒

As the only lodges within the 50,000-hectare Lapalala Wilderness Reserve, our game drives offer a rare sense of privacy, space and exclusivity.

There is time to slow down, take in every detail and experience wildlife without feeling rushed. Whether it’s sitting quietly alongside a pride of lions, watching elephants move through the landscape or simply taking a moment to appreciate the wilderness around you, every sighting unfolds at its own pace.

No crowds. No rushing from one sighting to the next. Just exceptional wildlife, untouched wilderness and a safari experience that feels entirely your own.

The grounds at Melote House are made for slowing down.

Wild landscapes, open skies and plenty of space to simply enjoy where you are. There’s a real sense of privacy here, and just the sounds of nature around you.

With the entire place to yourselves, Melote House is ideal for families and groups looking for a more private, luxurious safari experience. Spend your days discovering the wildlife that calls the reserve home, learning about their behaviour and getting to know the stories of the bush. Come together for sundowners or around the fire afterwards, and simply enjoy the space and each other’s company.

A safari that feels entirely your own.

More than a thousand years ago, long before Noka Camp looked out over the Palala River, people were living in this wilderness. They walked these valleys, followed the river, and left traces of their lives in the landscape.

Today, some of those traces remain on the rocks beneath Noka Camp. In a sheltered alcove about 10 metres below the lodge, ancient San rock art depicts animals and symbols that held meaning for the people who once called this place home.

This Heritage Day, we celebrate more than the wilderness around us. We celebrate the people, stories and history woven into it and the privilege of protecting them for generations to come.

At Lepogo, the past is quite literally beneath our feet.

Happy Heritage Day 🇿🇦

World Rhino Day 🦏

Protecting rhinos and the wildlife around us is Lepogo Lodges’ ethos. It’s woven into our projects, our business model as a non for profit lodge and identity.

So today is a special day to highlight these gentle giants that we are so privileged to have sightings of at Lapalala Wilderness.

The vision was to offer a luxurious safari experience that gives something back to the wilderness it calls home.

At Melote House, that vision comes to life in a place where you can experience the beauty of the African bush while being part of something much bigger.

Beyond the beauty and the luxury, there is a deeper purpose, protecting the land, supporting conservation and creating a future for the wildlife and communities that make this place so special.
