Kenya National Highways Authority Welcome to the official Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) page. Our mandate is to Manage, Develop & Maintain Class S, A & B Road network.

An autonomous road agency, responsible for the management, development, rehabilitation and maintenance of international trunk roads linking centers of international importance and crossing international boundaries or terminating at international ports(Class A road), national trunk roads linking internationally important centers (Class B roads), and primarily roads linking provincially important centers to each other or two higher-class roads (Class C roads).

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) Upper Eastern Region team, led by Regional Director Eng. Howard M’mayi, conducted an inspection of the ongoing periodic maintenance works along the Doldol Turnoff – Jua Kali – Naibor (B101) Road.

The inspection assessed the progress of works, including access roads and cross-culvert installations, to ensure compliance with the required engineering and safety standards.

The project is expected to enhance road safety, improve connectivity, and promote the sustainability of the road network, while easing movement of people and goods and supporting socio-economic activities within the region.

The Kenya National Highways Authority North Rift Region and Corridor B marked Mental Health Awareness Month through a series of activities aimed at promoting mental wellness, healthy workplaces, and staff well-being.

The program featured insightful sessions by officials from the Ministry of Health in Uasin Gishu County on workplace mental health, stress management, and emotional well-being, alongside mental health assessments and health screening services, including blood pressure checks and HIV testing.

The month-long campaign culminated in friendly sports and team-building activities hosted by the North Rift Region, which welcomed the KeNHA Western Region team.

The event fostered unity, teamwork, and camaraderie among staff, with North Rift Region emerging victorious after securing a 2–0 win in football and winning two sets in volleyball. The activities highlighted the importance of maintaining both mental and physical wellness in the workplace.

A high-level meeting between officials from the Kenya National Highways Authority, led by the Director General Eng. Luka Kimeli and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) mission team was held at Barabara Plaza.

The meeting marked the successful conclusion of a week-long supervision mission for the Mau Summit – Eldoret – Malaba (A8) Road project, conducted from 18th to 22nd May 2026.

The session reviewed key findings from site inspections, consolidated stakeholder feedback, and evaluated the Consultant’s pre-feasibility study reports.

Discussions focused on refining the project’s technical and financial structuring under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) framework, with both teams aligning on critical next steps to advance implementation and support the delivery of a modern, efficient, and sustainable transport corridor.

The Kenya National Highways Authority, together with the Public Private Partnerships project proponents, hosted the Government Delivery Unit on a monitoring and inspection visit of the ongoing Rironi – Mau Summit (A8) Road project. The visit sought to assess the progress of works, identify and address implementation bottlenecks, and enhance the project’s impact on surrounding communities.

The engagement provided an opportunity for discussions on key milestones, implementation challenges, stakeholder coordination, and interventions necessary to accelerate project delivery and improve efficiency.

The teams also explored ways to maximize the project’s socio-economic benefits through improved connectivity, enhanced road safety, easier access to social amenities, and stimulation of local economic activities.

Present during the visit were Government Delivery Unit Directors Anderson Kirui and Prisca Njeri.

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) Coast Region team conducted a sensitisation exercise at Kwa Mwango along the Kilifi – Malindi (A7) Road, focusing on road asset protection, road safety, and ALEHU operations.

The engagement brought together stakeholders including representatives from the Kilifi County Government, local administration officers, business operators, transporters, bodaboda riders, and members of the public, with the objective to reinforce the importance of safeguarding road reserves and promoting responsible road use.

During the exercise, KeNHA urged members of the public to vacate illegally occupied road reserve areas, emphasizing the need to protect road infrastructure and highlighting the risks associated with unlawful encroachment and misuse of road reserves.
