Big congratulations to Probationary FF Smith on successfully completing and passing his Mod 2 evaluation today. 👏🚒

Another major benchmark complete in the 18-month probationary process. Each module builds on the last — sharpening the fundamentals, strengthening fireground decision making, and laying the groundwork for a career committed to training, discipline, and continuous growth.

The reps matter. The foundation matters. Keep grinding, Smith. 🔥

ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER

American Canyon is not under a red flag warning, but this is a good reminder that fire is already a risk this season.

Now is a good time to sign up for Alert Napa County by texting your zip code (94503) to 888777, ensure your 'Go Bag' is refreshed and ready and practice your evacuation plan.

Conditions can change, so stay tuned for updates.

⚠️ ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER THREAT THROUGH MONDAY

We are tracking a period of elevated fire weather risk across the Interior Bay Area and Central Coast through Monday afternoon. While the overall risk level is currently "Minor," the combination of dry fuels and gusty winds creates a recipe for rapid fire spread if an ignition occurs.

What to expect:

Humidity: Very dry conditions with RH values between 10-25%, especially in the higher terrain across the region.

Winds: Sustained winds of 20-30 mph, with local gusts reaching 45-50 mph.

Impacts: Rapid rates of spread possible on any wind-and-terrain aligned starts.

How you can help:
Practice "One Less Spark" today. Avoid using lawnmowers or grinders in dry vegetation, ensure tow chains aren't dragging on the pavement, and never leave a campfire unattended.

Today, American Canyon Fire Protection District honors all of the moms, stepmoms, grandmothers, aunts, guardians, mentors, and the many “others” who step into a mother-like role with love, strength, patience, and care.

To our moms — thank you for being our first teachers, biggest supporters, and the steady voices behind so many of us who serve this community today.

Thank you for the quiet sacrifices, the endless support, and the way you help shape families, homes, and communities every single day.

From all of us at — Happy Mother’s Day. ❤️

Turns out “Munchkin University” has a pretty impressive guest lecturer lineup. 👨‍🚒🎓

Recently, Firefighter Heim traded the fire station for the classroom while visiting his son Fritz’s school — appropriately named Munchkin University.

Professor Fritz may still be working on recess negotiations and snack-time diplomacy, but he already knows his dad’s favorite subject: fire safety. 🚒

At , our commitment to service doesn’t stop at the city limits or when shift ends. Whether in American Canyon or in our own hometown communities, our personnel continue to educate, mentor, and engage with the next generation wherever the opportunity arises.

Because building safer communities starts with teaching even the littlest learners. ❤️
