ch kind of city. A place to unwind in comfort and style, where everyone is welcome. A place where breathtaking natural beauty like bluegrass hills and stunning Thoroughbreds lives just a stone’s throw from the vibrant culture and exciting nightlife of a walkable downtown. It’s a place you can return to again and again. Explore the very best of the Bluegrass State right here in Lexington—The Horse Capital of the World. There’s always room on the porch for one more.

The best way to celebrate Dolly? Give a little love back.

In 2024, Dolly Parton visited Lexington to celebrate a milestone close to her heart. Kentucky became the first state where her Imagination Library was available to children in all 120 counties. The celebration took place at the Historic Lyric Theatre. Dolly performed for the crowd and was honored by Gov. Andy Beshear as an official Kentucky Colonel.

Dolly has long been loved for her music, generosity, and commitment to helping children and communities thrive. Her visit left a special mark on Kentucky, and now, we’re finding our own ways to celebrate Dolly and carry on her legacy.

On September 25, join us for Dolly Day at the Moondance Amphitheater. Come dressed in your best Dolly-inspired outfits and let’s celebrate with a whole lot of love, laughter, music, and heart. The free event will take place from 7pm - 9:25pm and will feature music, food, and drink vendors. Donations will be accepted for Dolly’s Imagination Library.

Here’s how more Lexington businesses are showing a little Dolly love, and how you can join in too. Each giveback will benefit Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Next up in our Cats of the Bluegrass Series: Waylon Jennings and Barley. These two superstars call Hartfield & Co. Distillery in Paris, Kentucky home. They've spent the last several years serving as the distillery's most charming Guest Relations professionals.

Waylon Jennings has been on the job for about four years. When he's not working, you can find him making biscuits, playing with his favorite toys, or hiding out in the fermentation room. His biggest red flag? Stop petting him and you may get a swat.

Barley has been employed for about six years and is sweet, dainty, and very opinionated. Her favorite spot is the third floor rick house, where she spends her days enchanting visitors with her beauty. She loves belly rubs and will occasionally track down a mouse, but for the most part, she prefers to focus on looking beautiful.

Waylon and Barley have their very own stickers available at Hartfield & Co., with custom t-shirts coming soon. Visit them today.
