Today, we celebrate far more than an anniversary. We celebrate 96 years of women believing in one another, raising their voices, opening doors and transforming courage into collective progress.

At the heart of this historic BPW Day, BPW International President Diana Barragán Medina shares a message that captures the soul of our movement: leadership learned together, friendships that cross borders and a global sisterhood united by purpose.

From the women who laid our foundations in 1930 to every member carrying this legacy forward today, each generation has added its voice, work and dreams to the BPW story. Now it is our turn to honor that history by building what comes next with courage, compassion and unity.

May we continue to inspire, innovate, empower and transform. Together, we shape a sustainable future.

Our Proudly BPW series continues with Neelima Basnet, BPW International First Vice President – United Nations.

Her message invites us to look at the deeper roots of our history. In 1919, Dr. Lena Madesin Phillips founded the National Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs in the United States. Eleven years later, on 26 August 1930, she founded BPW International in Geneva, transforming a national vision into a global movement.

As we celebrate 96 years of BPW International, we also honour the 107-year journey that helped make our global movement possible. Neelima’s words call us to carry this legacy forward with unity, courage and commitment for generations to come.
