Being hungry is nothing to smile about. Feeding families gives hope to those in need. Knowing that there is someone or some organization there to help has put smiles on every families face. At South Shore Food Pantry, we are on a mission to feed those in the community they are struggling so they don’t lose faith. Don’t worry, help is on the way! According to the Food Research & Action Center, 35 million Americans are struggling with hunger and 1 in 10 households experience food insecurity.

Today, we honor our veterans in all armed forces. On this day, lrts all take a pause in our lives to pay our debt of gratitude to those who serve to protect us as well as those who made the ultimate sacrifice so we can enjoy our freedom: Freedom of speech, of religion, freedom from oppression and protection from countries that threaten us and our interests overseas. Veterans served because they personally felt their call to duty to defend a cause which was greater than themselves.

It is my hope that each generation teaches the next generation of the importance and reverence of this day, as our freedoms are made possible by the thousands of soldiers that sacrificed their lives so that we may enjoy ours.

This day is very important to me because my father was a World War II Army veteran serving overseas. His plane was frequently under attack over enemy territory. His loyalty and dedication are symbolic of our military, so it is my hope that all Americans throughout our great country pay their respects and gratitude to those who served for us across all military branches. I hope we can put our political differences aside, come together and be stronger than ever as one nation!

We are the greatest nation in the world and today lets show the world how we deeply respect and support our Veterans. God bless our country and God bless our Veterans.
