Good afternoon,

The National Weather Service in Huntsville, Alabama, has issued a **Severe Thunderstorm Watch** for **DeKalb and Jackson Counties, Alabama**, until **8:00 PM EDT on June 22, 2026**.

Because DeKalb and Jackson Counties are neighboring counties to Dade County, **Dade County Emergency Management** is activating operations and has opened all three community shelters for public use. These shelters are currently open.

Residents are encouraged to closely monitor local weather conditions. As storms approach Dade County, they may produce **heavy rainfall and strong winds**, which could result in downed trees, blocked roadways, and power outages.
