LOOK: Personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Palanan and Coast Guard Sub-Station Divilacan rendered manpower assistance in securing motor bancas at, Isabela, as part of the Philippine Coast Guard's preparedness and response measures in anticipation of the effects of Tropical Depression "MAYMAY."

Meanwhile, Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Buguey conducted weather and sea condition monitoring and disseminated safety advisories to local fisherfolk in Brgy. Minanga Weste, Buguey, Cagayan. Fishermen were reminded to remain vigilant, closely monitor official weather updates, and refrain from venturing out to sea whenever conditions are unsafe.

Further strengthening the District's preparedness efforts, Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Kalinga conducted clearing operations of clogged canals in flood-prone areas to help mitigate the effects of heavy rainfall.

The Coast Guard District North Eastern Luzon (CGDNELZN) participated in the Multi-Stakeholder Clean-Up Drive for Rivers, Creeks, and Waterways and the Bamboo Growing Program, "Green Shield for Resilience," as part of the culminating activities for the observance of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2026, with the theme, "Naghahanda at Kumikilos Tungo sa Panatag na Bagong Pilipinas"at Cabasan, Peรฑablanca, Cagayan, on August 6, 2026.

The activity was spearheaded by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in partnership with the Municipality of Peรฑablanca, together with various national government agencies and stakeholders.

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š: Coast Guard District North Eastern Luzon (CGDNELZN), remains on BLUE ALERT Status and is maintaining heightened operational readiness as Tropical Depression Luis continues to affect areas within its Area of Responsibility (AOR).

As of the latest weather advisory, areas within the District remain under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1. Tropical Depression Luis has maintained its strength while remaining stationary over the sea east of Aurora and is forecast to move generally northwestward, with possible landfall or a close approach over Northern Luzon tonight or the following day.

As a precautionary measure, a No-Sail Policy has been implemented in Coast Guard Station Cagayan, Coast Guard Station Isabela, Coast Guard Station Sta Ana and Coast Guard Station Aurora to ensure the safety of passengers, fishermen, and operators of motorbancas and other small watercraft.

CGDNELZN continues to closely monitor the weather situation, coordinate with partner agencies, and remains ready to respond to any emergency. The District likewise urges the public to stay vigilant, monitor official weather updates, and strictly comply with all safety advisories and directives issued by the authorities.

The Coast Guard District North Eastern Luzon (CGDNELZN), advises all mariners, fishermen, and the general public of the scheduled launch of the Jielong-3 rocket by the People's Republic of China from the Yellow Sea Launch Area, offshore waters of Haiyang, Shandong Province, on 05 August 2026, between 10:29 AM and 11:04 AM (PhST).

According to the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA), portions of the rocket are expected to fall within the designated Drop Zone (DZ1), located approximately 94 nautical miles from Babuyan Island and 143 nautical miles from Sta. Ana, Cagayan. The identified drop zone is within the Philippine Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

Although the risk to Philippine territory is low, all vessels are advised to avoid the identified drop zone during the launch window and immediately report any suspected rocket debris to the nearest Philippine Coast Guard unit.

The Philippine Coast Guard remains committed to ensuring maritime safety and security through the timely dissemination of advisories and continuous coordination with concerned government agencies.

Coast Guard District North Eastern Luzon (CGDNELZN), under the leadership of CAPT Godofredo G Vagilidad Jr PCG, successfully conducted the Joint Turn-Over Ceremony for the Office of the Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff, and the Coast Guard Stations of Aurora, Sta. Ana, Cagayan, and Batanes on 30 July 2026.

The ceremony marked the formal relinquishment and assumption of duties of key leadership positions within the District. LCDR Raffy D Laguiwed PCG formally relinquished his duties and responsibilities as Acting Deputy Commander, while LCDR Benjamin A Misador Jr PCG officially assumed the position as the incoming Acting Deputy Commander.

The ceremony also recognized the turnover of command among the CGDNELZN Stations: Coast Guard Station Aurora, LTJG Gene P Cata-an PCG relinquished command to LTJG Albert Aurelle P Dela Cruz PCG.
Coast Guard Station Sta. Ana, LTJG Lamie A Manglugay PCG turned over command to LTJG James T Guerrero PCG.
Coast Guard Station Cagayan, LTJG Mark Jon Gazzingan PCG formally turned over command to LTJG Ahleya Lei U Ursulum-Villanueva PCG.
Meanwhile, at Coast Guard Station Batanes, LTJG Lamie A Manglugay PCG relinquished command to LTJG Jerick M Arquisola PCG.

The Joint Turn-Over Ceremony reflects the Philippine Coast Guard's commitment to leadership continuity and mission readiness. It honored the service of the outgoing leaders and welcomed the incoming officers who will continue advancing CGDNELZN's mission of ensuring maritime safety, security, marine environmental protection, and maritime law enforcement.

The ceremony also reaffirmed CGDNELZN's commitment to organizational excellence and dedicated service to the Filipino people.
