With less than a hundred days till election day, many socialists are asking themselves how we can continue to build economic and social justice. Brown/RISD Young Democratic Socialists of America sees democratic socialism as a movement, with electoral politics being one of the mediums through which to effect change. On an organizational level, Brown/RISD Young Democratic Socialists of America (YDSA) will not endorse Joe Biden for the upcoming presidential election. The former Vice President does not reflect the chapter’s values to an extent that would merit official endorsement.That being said, Brown/RISD YDSA, as a “big tent” organization, prides itself on the diversity of opinion on how we can pursue the ideals of democratic socialism. Each member is thus strongly encouraged to evaluate for themselves how best to incorporate November’s election into YDSA’s broader goals of economic and social justice.
