The Arizona Department of Economic Security is Your Partner for a Stronger Arizona. DES works with families, community organizations, advocates and state and federal partners to realize our collective vision that every child, adult, and family in the state of Arizona will be safe and economically secure. DES works to promote enhanced safety and well-being for Arizonans by focusing on four primary goals:

- Serve Arizonans with integrity, humility and kindness;
- Support Arizonans to reach their potential through social services that train, rehabilitate, and connect them with job creators;
- Provide temporary assistance to Arizonans in need while they work toward greater self-sufficiency; and,
- Provide children with food, health care, and parental financial support; provide services to individuals with disabilities; and protect the vulnerable by investigating allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

We were excited to hear our DES Reentry Coordinator, Ray Bandin, quoted in KJZZ’s story yesterday!

“Most employers, once they give an opportunity to our clients that have been justice-involved, actually start opening up more doors because they soon realize that our clients tend to be more reliable and tend to show up at work and do an excellent job.”

Ray Bandin's quote not only highlights real feedback we've heard from employers who hire our clients, but also addresses common misconceptions about justice-involved individuals. Through the DES Reentry Services, thousands receive employment services and training to support their successful return to the community.

⚠️ SCAM ALERT: Several states are reporting phone scams targeting SNAP clients.

Scammers are spoofing caller IDs to appear as official state call centers and using automated phone systems, sometimes opening with messages like, "Congratulations, you have been selected for new benefits!" They will ask for your EBT Card Number, PIN, or Case Number to steal your funds.

Stay safe:
➡️DES will NEVER ask for your PIN over the phone.
➡️Never give your PIN to anyone.
➡️If you receive a suspicious call, hang up immediately.

Learn more about protecting your benefits at des.az.gov/ebt and report any suspicious activity at des.az.gov/report-fraud/report-suspected-fraud
