Founded in 1870, the cadets of the Golden Bear Battalion have proudly upheld a 140-year tradition of service beginning with disaster relief and firefighting in the early days of the 20th century to serving as commissioned officers in America's Army in every major American conflict since World War II. Today's Golden Bear Cadets continue this proud tradition by serving locally and nationally in the California Army National Guard, the Army Reserve, and the Active Duty Army.
