A cheetah’s eyes are designed for precision. 👀🐆

Their forward-facing eyes provide excellent depth perception, helping them judge distance accurately while moving at high speeds. Even their dark tear marks play an important role by reducing glare from the sun and improving focus during hunts. 🐾

And yes - cheetahs even have long eyelashes to help protect their eyes from dust, grass and debris while moving through the wild. ✨🌿

After everything this little boy has already been through, moments like these mean so much to us. From vet visits and intensive care to now relaxing in the grass, rolling around and giving us the sweetest little yawn - JJ continues to show just how strong he is. 🤍🐾

He is doing well, growing every day and remains surrounded by plenty of care, warmth and attention as he continues his journey. ✨

Environmental enrichment plays an important role in the wellbeing of big cats. Hanging objects, different textures, scents and moving targets encourage natural behaviours such as climbing, investigating, problem-solving and playful interaction. 🐾

What may look like simple play is actually valuable mental and physical stimulation. ✨

Instead of roaring, they communicate through a variety of vocalisations such as chirps, growls, meows and purring. This is possible because of differences in the structure of their vocal anatomy compared to roaring cats like lions and tigers.
