MANGAUNG METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY HOLDS THE THIRD LEG OF THE VOTER EDUCATION AWARENESS DRIVE

Every vote has the power to shape accountability and representation in communities. The choices we make at the ballot box can influence the services and development that affect our daily lives, from water and electricity to roads, healthcare and education. The third leg of the Voter Education Awareness, as led by the Office of the Speaker, Cllr. Lawrence Mathae, took place today, 02 September 2026.

This leg of the drive saw residents of Rocklands Location receive detailed content on the importance of voting and the processes that govern voting. _"Democracy works best when communities participate. This voter education campaign seeks to empower citizens with the knowledge they need to register, vote and make informed choices"_ said Mr Mosala Kori, facilitator at the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC)

The campaign further provides practical information on voter eligibility and registration. South African citizens who are eligible to vote are encouraged to ensure that they are registered and that their personal details are correct. Participants were guided on how to register, verify their registration status and confirm their correct voting stations. Residents were also provided with services from Centlec, Mangaung Human Settlements, Indigent Registration and Thusong Services.
