At Summerfields Pre-Primary , our teachers are fully trained and equipped to implement the Mathematics and Language Improvement Plan. This week our theme focuses on Books. Our learners are being exposed to a variety of books, with a special focus on the Solutions " Blue Books", which are print-rich and age-appropriate for our Grade R learners. Through the Mathematics and Language Programme, our learners were exposed to concepts such as big and small, as well as working with different shapes. At Summerfields Primary, we implement the Gauteng Department of Education’s small group activities approach, which builds a strong academic, social and emotional foundation. This week our learners were exposed to MEASUREMENT: MASS Using concrete objects which enabled them to understandthe of measurement concepts, which will increase engagement, and the development of estimation skills. For Language, Our learners created their little tadpole from the story, which is inegrated with LIFESKILLS: THE LITTLE TADPOLE. This training for teachers was crucial for preparing the next generation for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity, our educators were equipped to integrate these skills into the curriculum effectively which will be unplugged in the Grade R.
