South Africa is a constitutional democracy founded on the principles of human dignity, equality, non-racialism, and non-sexism. In the spirit of Pan-African solidarity, we must advance a continent that belongs to all who live in it, united by justice, peace, mutual respect, and shared prosperity. Every person, regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, class, gender, religion, or social background, must enjoy equal access to the nation’s wealth, quality healthcare, education, decent work, and economic opportunity.
Our political vision must be anchored in a transformative and developmental agenda that is practical, inclusive, and resilient. It must ensure a fairer distribution of wealth, guarantee decent and dignified wages for workers, expand access to quality public services, and remove barriers to healthcare and education based on financial status. Land reform must be pursued lawfully, decisively, and with urgency, in a manner that advances redress, restores dignity, broadens ownership, and strengthens productive use of land while remaining faithful to the constitutional order and the broader project of social justice. This requires clear implementation, accountable institutions, and policies that are both economically sustainable and socially just.
These principles are firmly supported by the South African Constitution, particularly Section 1, which sets out the founding values of human dignity, the achievement of equality, non-racialism and non-sexism; Section 9 on equality; Section 10 on human dignity; Section 25 on property and land reform; Section 27 on access to healthcare; and Section 29 on education. They are equally consistent with the EFF Constitution, especially its section on Aims and Objectives, which commits the movement to economic freedom, social justice, and African unity. Together, these frameworks provide a clear political and moral mandate to build a united South Africa—and ultimately a united Africa—where the state serves the people, diversity is protected, rights are enforced, institutions are strengthened, and prosperity is shared for the benefit of present and future generations.
