"The work of the cross"
Sunday Service || Word of God || Prophet Selowa.

When we understand what Christ did on the cross, we are compelled to love Him. We need to understand that we were not of God, but through Christ we became children of God. We were not accepted at the throne, but through Jesus and the cross, we gained access to the Father.

It was impossible for us to obtain healing and deliverance on our own, but Jesus opened the door for us. We are now able to receive deliverance because of the finished work of the cross.

When we come to understand what the Lord Jesus did for us, what He has left for us, and what He has ordained for us, we will be compelled to remain in His presence and love Him.

We were once enemies of God because of our sinful conduct and the mindset that controlled us, but God reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ.

Mankind was left with a battle to please God because of the way we once lived. There is a way to live according to the flesh and a way to live according to the Spirit.

Paul tells the church that some believed he and his companions lived according to the standards of the flesh. However, Paul explains that although they live in the flesh, they do not wage war according to the flesh.

Every child of God must understand this: if you belong to God, you will always be at war. Unless you understand where that battle is fought, you will never conquer it.

God has given us weapons to fight this war. These weapons are mighty through God, able to pull down every stronghold and every argument that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.

This battle exists so that we may become people who are pleasing to the Father. We are called to bring every thought into obedience to Christ. As we pull down strongholds, we overcome every form of disobedience within us. (2 Corinthians 10:1–6).

Every child of God must put on the full armor of God. This armor represents the spiritual weapons God has given to every believer. Each of us has the responsibility to take up this armor so that, when the evil day comes, we will be able to stand firm.

We put on the armor by standing in the truth, walking in righteousness, and becoming doers of peace. Scripture says that whoever practices righteousness is righteous.

Therefore, we ought to do what is right at all times. When the Word of God lives within us, we carry the sword of the Spirit. (Ephesians 6:12–19).

The law was given so that man might live righteously, but its righteous requirement could not be fulfilled because of the weakness of the flesh.

We had the first man, Adam, and we have Christ, the life-giving Spirit. We are in a battle, and the battle we must overcome is within us. That is why we must pray for obedience to Christ.

There is a law of the flesh and a law of the Spirit at work within us, and both influence the way we live.Adam became a living soul, but through sin he became spiritually dead and carnal.

Then came the second Adam, Jesus Christ, the life-giving Spirit, so that we might live again. Having died under the pattern of the first Adam, we have now received a new pattern in Christ—the law of the life-giving Spirit.

The law is spiritual, but it became weak because of the flesh. In our minds we desire to do good, yet the flesh opposes that desire because the law of the flesh wars against the law of the Spirit.
Jesus became the life-giving Spirit.

Our bodies are like houses with doors—the eyes, ears, and mouth. Paul speaks of sin dwelling within him, distinguishing it from his true identity by saying, “It is no longer I, but sin living in me.”

There is another law at work in the members of our bodies, warring against the law of our minds and seeking to bring us into captivity to the law of sin. (Romans 7:14–23).

There is no condemnation for those who live according to the Spirit. What the law could not accomplish because it was weakened by the flesh, God accomplished by sending His Son, Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:1–5).

God declares Jesus to be our High Priest. Every temptation we think is unique to us was also faced by Jesus, yet He did not sin.Jesus experienced the realities of life in the flesh, but nothing succeeded in leading Him into sin.

Those who live according to the flesh become enemies of God, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things above.
When we live by the Spirit, we possess the solution to this battle.

Jesus came as the life-giving Spirit so that we might live in the Spirit. As we feed on the Word of God, we are transformed and become spiritually minded. (Hebrews 4:15).

When we set our minds on the things of God and His Word, we are quickened. As we feed on the Word, our spirits grow stronger, our souls become healthy, and we no longer live under the power of sin.

You will no longer condemn yourself for your past. You will understand that through Jesus, the life-giving Spirit, your old life has passed away. The Spirit strengthens us through the Word. Therefore, let us focus on the spirit man and leave the carnal man behind. (Hebrews 12:2–3).

God writes His laws upon our hearts. We must align our hearts with His will, and this is accomplished by receiving and obeying His Word. There is transformation in the Word of God.

The question is: Where is your focus, and where do you spend your time?

TIME FOR EXHORTATION || PASTOR MMOLA

SURRENDERING TO GOD.

Sometimes when you look at your life, you may feel like you have no direction or seem to be lost. You may find yourself not knowing whether you should cry or pray.

We want God to lift us up and direct our paths, but we still pursue our own ways. We want Him to lead us, yet we continue to follow our own desires and plans.

We need to die to ourselves so that we can fully surrender to God and allow Him to direct our paths.

We need to die to ourselves so that God can lift us up to Him. We want God to lift us, but we have not yet died to self.

Paul said that we should offer ourselves as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God. Christ also gave Himself as a sacrifice for us on the cross. He surrendered His life so that we could be saved.

In the same way, we are called to surrender ourselves to God. We cannot truly follow Christ if we have not died to self. We need to die to our own desires, our own ways, and our own will so that we can live according to the will of Christ.

Sometimes, the things we go through may be the very things God is using to bring us closer to Him.

You need to die to self before you can truly follow Christ. If you have not died to yourself, you will struggle to follow Him according to His will.

On the last day, some will say, “Lord, we healed in Your name. We prophesied in Your name. We served in Your name.” But the frightening part is that He will say, "I never knew you."

This shows us that following Jesus is not simply about going to church. Anyone can enter the doors of a church. It is easy to attend church, but it is much harder to truly follow Christ.

That is why He will say, "I never knew you." They had no problem going to church or doing religious works, but they failed to do His will.

It is easy to say, “Let the name of the Lord be praised,” but the question is: Are you truly following Christ, or are you following Him simply by attending church?

Following Christ means following His will. We need to die to self in order to live for Christ.

To render service to Jesus in an incomplete way is the same as not doing anything at all. It is not enough to be in church; we ought to surrender ourselves to Christ and live according to His will.
