MEET THE TEAM TALA | MANDISA

Meet Mandisa Immaculate Mkhize, one of the friendly faces you’ll find at Tala’s Reception.

Mandisa has been part of the Tala family for 4½ years, beginning her journey with us as a waitress before moving into Reception, and she’s loved every step of it.

Her love for tourism started at school, where she studied the subject and discovered a genuine fascination with nature, animals, different cultures and, most importantly, people. Today, one of her favourite parts of working at Tala is meeting guests from all walks of life, socialising and hearing their stories.

For Mandisa, Tala is more than just a workplace. It’s a place where she can enjoy the peacefulness of nature, take a breath, and appreciate the beautiful surroundings.

One of her favourite Tala memories was seeing Leadwood host a film crew, watching the venue receive recognition and praise, and seeing that exposure bring even more guests to Tala. While she still thinks Leadwood is gorgeous, she says our new Homestead is exceptionally beautiful and simply mind-blowing.

Her favourite animal? The zebra.

Why? Because zebras look after one another, have each other’s backs and are fiercely protective of their own.

Her second favourite? The giraffe.

Mandisa admires how giraffes know where they belong, respect boundaries and communicate quietly without all the noise.

And then there are the important questions…

Dream adventure: Exploring and trying new things

Hidden talents and passions: Writing, reading, baking and cooking

Mandisa describes herself as kind, caring and generous, and outside of Tala she loves getting out, exploring, trying new things and discovering more of the world.

Her dream is to travel more, experience different cultures, meet different people and explore new places. Her wishlist includes Cape Town, Mauritius and Paris.

And her message to anyone thinking of visiting Tala?

“Coming to Tala is one of the most interesting and amazing experiences. With great service, beautiful views and nature all around you, it’s a place where you can truly relax, switch off from distractions and enjoy the experience.”
