Wishing all Christians in South Africa, A Blessed Easter Weekend!

May this season of renewal bring you peace, happiness, and new beginnings.

May your hearts be filled with hope, your days with joy, and may the Love of Christ be made evident in your homes.

"After a devastating fire 10 years ago, Mona and her family spent nearly a decade in a rundown house, holding on through hardship and terrible winters!
Thanks to the incredible work of Cllr Malcolm Jacobs, Cllr Grant Classen & their team, their beloved home has been beautifully restored to its original glory!
This is true Heritage Day celebrations – because true heritage means preserving homes, families, and hope.

Grateful for this restoration story!

Cllr Grant Classen speaks on a shocking agenda item: the City wants to sell its shares in the CTICC for R1 billion!

🤔 Why would we sell shares in a profitable, revenue-generating asset that benefits the people of Cape Town?
💰 The CTICC brings in millions every year – money that funds critical services for our communities.

This is short-term thinking that robs our future. Cape Town deserves better!

Launching Operation S.O.S. - Save Our Schools.

The Western Cape Education Department's decision to cut 2,400 teaching posts has placed unbearable pressure on schools leading to overcrowded classrooms, exhausted educators, and compromised learning.
These cuts have extremely impacted disadvantaged communities, where schools
are already under-resourced and struggling to cope.
• This reckless decision undermines our children's development and jeopardizes their futures.
• Historically marginalised schools predominantly coloured and black are bearing the brunt of this crisis.
• Premier Alan Winde's 2024 decision to shift R1 billion away from education and health to safety and security departments has only deepened the damage.
• The mismanagement of funds and the incorrect fund allocation has had a dire effect upon our schools.
• There seems to be a deliberate neglect of our children's potential and we cannot stay silent.

In February 2025, Cllr Malcolm Jacobs met with school principals to plan the way forward.
Out of that came a unified response:

Operation S.O.S. - Save Our Schools.

Your voice will be deeply missed, but your legacy is eternally etched in the history of the country you so dearly loved and served.

May you find strength in the memories of his extraordinary life.

Cllr Grant’s Speech in Council 26 June 2025.

City of Cape Town budget is not hopeful, it's a budget of harm.

This budget should be scrapped and rebuilt with the proper input from Cape Town ratepayers.

Cllr Malcolm’s speech in Council: 26 June 2025

In this budget, fixed charges are linked to property ownership, not actual service use.
among those ratepayers who have, historically, maintained their properties, paid diligently, and formed the financial backbone of this City.
Their loyalty is now met with disregard.

ARA cannot support this budget.

🌟 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for the Africa Restoration Alliance’s Project, “The Cost of Your Dignity,” on Saturday, June 21, 2025, in Ward 68, Cape Town!

Together, we made strides in ensuring that every tenant in the City of Cape Town’s rental stock units is treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.

Your support and participation helped us raise awareness and foster a strong sense of community.

Let’s continue to advocate for dignity and uplift each other as we work towards a brighter future for all! 💪🏽❤️
