HONEY PULLING

When operating on such a big scale it is always a pleasure having machines and "toys" on your side like a skitzer to make life easier and the workload less tough on the body!

All that boxes are filled with honey, ready to take back to the extracting room where they will by spun out. Notice the tarps on the top of the pallets- it is mainly for preventing the bees "robbing" back their honey that we just harvested.

This is how the typical extracting room looks like for beekeeping. This was in North Dakota, USA where I worked for 5 consecutive seasons, from 2020-2024 to gain experience and to learn everything I know now! The season starts in Texas in the spring time where you "split" the hives to double your colonies because the climate is much better over there! From there, all the bee hives migrate up North for the summer where they are placed in the farmers' land so the bees can work in the field and you can pull and extract the honey.

It's a whole process in the honey room- You put the frames through the uncapper where a warm "knife" cuts the capped honey and even out the build out comb. Then the person who is the "scratcher" scratches all the small pieces of capped honey that was missed in the process. The line fills with honey frames (depending on how big of a machine you have) and then all the honey spins out and the empty frames goes back to the field to place on the hives again, to repeat the cycle. The honey is then transferred through pipes to another room and stored in a big settling tank and then it is poured into barrels, that is ready to be shipped and sold!

Nothing goes to waste in that room! Wax is melted to sell in big block as well.

A civil engineering company called Martin and East phoned me to attend a bee matter. Luckilly their guys saw the problem way in advance so their work wasn't held up.

Bees made nest inside of a hollow rock in a garden and I was first on scene to investigate. This removal was straight forward and I relocated them to a more suitable environment!
