Wax melting!

It takes a lot of bee removals to gather enough old comb and wax to melt into moulds and bricks of pure wax. It's time consuming but worth it!

🍯🐝 I AM ONE VERY HAPPY BEEKEEPER!🐝🍯

It is one of the best feelings to see as a beekeeper when a swarm has moved into one of you catch boxes where you have placed it!

Beyond proud!

A tricky and time consuming removal, but it was done successfully!

The bees lived inside of a rotten tree, so I built all of the brood comb over into my frames after I had opened it up. I could not find the Queen, so I had to smoke them out! They decided to swarm onto a tree, very high up. I climbed onto the ladder and pruned the branch and shook them into my box. The Queen excluder helped once again and they were attraced to her hormone scent!

I shooked a tree branch of bees into my box and placed a queen excluder on it. The pheromone of the Queen lured her babies closer and I moved it at night time to one of my apiary sites.

You know when they look like this, it is time to put a super on! The bees need more space and they want to expand their colony!🐝🐝🐝

It is time to place some swarm traps out to lure some "free" bees. I have melted some pure beeswax and foam rolled it on the inside of the hive and smeared some propolis close to the entrance to invite them in to set up shop!

Moving swarms from one location to a new location. Super excited! 🐝🐝🐝🐝

I was called out for a bee removal. A construction company used a excavator to take out some trees next to the river and unfortunately a beehive lost their home and decided to move into the building.

I gently scooped them up and put them into my hive on some build out comb frames and placed a queen excluder on the hive, therefore the Queen was trapped and the bees could smell her pheromone. I also gave them some sugar water. It was a sunny day so they flew in and out of the house, but by nightfall all the bees were in the hive. I relocated the box the next morning to one of my apiaries. I just took a brood frame from another hive with capped brood, open larvae and eggs and placed it in the hive as well.
