Today, in my capacity as Deputy Speaker of the WCPP I had the privilege of attending the Mandela Day Commemorative Programme with our PEO Unit, where we welcomed the youth from the Salesian Institute, Metro.

Under the theme, "It's still in our hands to combat poverty and inequity," we honoured Nelson Mandela's legacy while encouraging young people to embrace responsible citizenship, community service, and positive social change.

Together, we can keep Madiba's legacy alive through action.

In the spirit of Youth Month, I had the privilege of delivering the keynote address and engaging with the YeBoneers from the Swartland region on the role of elected representatives in the WCPP as well as my responsibilities as Deputy Speaker.

Together, we reflected on this year's theme: "RESET@50 – The Future Calls: Honouring the Legacy, Shaping the Future." Inspiring the next generation of leaders remains one of our greatest responsibilities.
