Members of NCC-Group’s Occupational Health and Safety ( ) Unit recently attended expo at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC.) Bringing together over 7,200 energy and water professionals, 250+ exhibitors, and more than 200 global experts, the event served as an excellent opportunity for our team to interact with industry leaders and learn about the acceleration of the continent's energy transition.

As Africa’s power and water systems face increasing operational pressure from infrastructure strain to rapid technological deployment ensuring strict safety compliance and risk mitigation is more vital than ever. For our OHS team, the conference provided invaluable insight into the massive developmental shift occurring across the continent.

By immersing our specialists in the operational realities of the sector, NCC-Group remains fully equipped to safeguard the workforces driving Africa’s structural evolution. Our team had particularly engaging interactions with TAP and Wesgro, and we are excited to see the monumental impact their initiatives will have on infrastructure transition and sustainable economic growth across Africa. Our Integrated Wildfire Management (IWM) team was absolutely thrilled to head back to Observatory Junior School to help celebrate the official launch of their brand-new Career Club!

This incredible extracurricular club gives learners an inside look at different professions and helps them understand exactly which high-school subjects they need to chase their dream careers. It’s a brilliant, forward-thinking initiative, and NCC-Group is incredibly proud to have been involved as presenters right from the very start.

The launch was such a milestone that even the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) popped by to experience the high energy and inspiration in the room! By sparking curiosity in young minds today, this career club is helping build the leaders of tomorrow, driving Real Growth for people, planet and business.

NCC-Group is seeking a Mid to Senior Level Environmental Site Compliance Officer for a 2-year contract based in Standerton, Mpumalanga. This role is focused on delivering on-site environmental management services on a remote project, with a focus on construction within the renewable energy sector.

In this role, you will be responsible for implementing environmental management requirements as per the project's approved EA, EMPr, and WUL. You will conduct on-site inspections and audits, deliver environmental awareness training, and provide solution-based management with minimal supervision to ensure project authorisations are strictly maintained.

What we’re looking for:

- Qualifications: An Environmental Management Degree or similar relevant qualification, along with certifications/registrations for occupational functioning.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience delivering environmental management services. Experience in the construction, energy, or renewable energy sectors is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge: Deep familiarity with NEMA listed activities, provincial nature conservation ordinances, the national biodiversity framework, and relevant legislation.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, practical application of mapping data (GPS, SHP, KML, etc.), and the ability to interpret spatial data from construction documents.
- Mobility: Must be willing and able to relocate and work in remote locations for extended periods of time.
- Driving: A valid driver’s license with demonstrated competence driving in all road conditions, including off-road.

Skills: Exceptional communication skills, high independence, a proactive problem-solving mindset, and a strongly developed client and stakeholder focus.

These sessions, hosted by the Western Cape Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning in Stellenbosch and George, are essential for bringing provincial regulators and environmental professionals together to streamline systems and protect our province’s unique biodiversity.

This past Saturday, NCC-Group’s Integrated Wildfire Management (IWM) unit participated in the Overberg District Municipality’s International Firefighters’ Day event in Bredasdorp.

The unit attended with two crews to represent the group alongside our partners in the Overberg District. The day was an excellent showcase of the teamwork and physical endurance required to protect our landscapes.

Our team demonstrated their expertise across several friendly yet competitive challenges, including the Toughest Firefighter Alive challenge, 2,4km and 10km endurance runs, and a technical navigation 4x4 challenge.

Beyond the competition, the gathering offered a good opportunity to reinforce the synergy between ourselves and other provincial units, essential for a proactive response. Thank you to the Overberg District Municipality and all other partners involved for a day that we wont soon forget.

NCC-Group is seeking an Administrator for our Business Support Unit. This is a permanent position to ensure the efficient use, maintenance, and coordination of our company’s vital tools and equipment.

In this role, you will manage the full lifecycle of company assets, from maintaining inventory registers and conducting stock takes to assisting with procurement planning. You will also play a key role in fleet administration - handling vehicle compliance, service inspections, and incident documentation - while coordinating repairs for facilities and responding to vehicle breakdowns or security incidents as they arise.

What we’re looking for:

Experience: Proven track record in an administrative role, specifically working with asset or inventory management processes and documentation.

Skills: High level of computer literacy (Microsoft Office) with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure.

NCC-Group is seeking a Senior OHS Consultant for a 4-month contract based in the Eastern Cape. This role is focused on delivering specialist Safety, Health, Environmental, Risk, and Quality consulting services, with a particular advantage for those with wind farm experience.

In this role, you will provide expert SHERQ advice, conduct on-site compliance inspections and audits, and develop essential compliance controls like audit tools and policies. You will be responsible for preparing specialist reports, delivering stakeholder workshops, and ensuring all project deliverables meet the highest quality and safety standards.

What we’re looking for:

- Qualifications: A Degree or Diploma in Safety, Health, Environmental, Risk, and/or Quality Management.
- Professional Registration: Valid SACPCMP registration at Manager (CHSM) or Candidate Manager (Can.CHSM) level is essential.
- Experience: 5–10 years of experience within SHERQ disciplines. Previous experience in the renewable energy industry (wind farms) is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge: Expert understanding and practical application of SHERQ legislation and ISO Standards.
- Skills: High level of technical expertise, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Driving: A valid driver’s license with the competency to drive in all terrains.
