Today we had fun at our book club session, and we worked in two teams. Each team chose a book and speed-read it, then used LEGO to build a scene that explains what happens in the story. 📚🧱

Team A chose Unicorn Magic: Silvermane Saves the Stars: Series 2 Book 1 by the author of Rainbow Magic and built a castle to demonstrate the magic in the book. 🦄✨🏰

Team B chose a nonfiction book, The Outdoor Art Room: Spring by Rita Storey, and built a garden to demonstrate outdoor activities and spring. 🌷🌿🌼

Our book club now has a name! The team chose Adequate Readers. 🎉📖

Die kunsboeke sluit in kunsgeskiedenis, kontemporêre kuns, argitektuur, boeke oor individuele kunstenaars soos Vermeer, Escher, en Robert Indiana, en 'n pragtige koffietafelboek: Islam - art and architecture.

Art lovers visiting Bellville Library Centre on Saturday, 6 June from 09:00, are in for a double treat: in the foyer the Friends of the Library has a curated sale of books on the arts, and in the art.B Gallery the popular Tiny Treasures exhibition opens at 11:00 (viewing starts from 10:30)!

The art books cover art history, contemporary art, architecture, books on individual artists like Vermeer, Escher and Robert Indiana, and a lovely coffee table book : Islam – art and architecture.

Art prints of iconic works by the likes of Matisse, Gauguin, Miro, and Monet are available at the discounted price of R100 each.

28 May 2026 was a joyful and exciting day for our juveniles as we officially launched our Book Club. The day began with the children selecting books of their own choice and engaging in speed-reading activities. Through this, many interesting titles were discovered and shared among the group, including Vampire Breath by R. L. Stine, EXO: K-Pop Superstars, and Jelly Baby by Jean Ure, along with many other exciting books that sparked meaningful discussions among the children.

One of the highlights of the day was choosing a name for the Book Club. The pupils came up with several creative suggestions, including:

Adquet Learning

The excitement, teamwork, and enthusiasm shown by the children made the launch truly memorable, and we look forward to many more inspiring reading adventures together.
