This Youth Month, the City of Cape Town is highlighting the impact of programmes that help young people access skills, jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities.

Working with industry partners across sectors such as technology, biotechnology, green economy, contact centres, design and manufacturing, thousands of young Capetonians have been equipped with in-demand skills and connected to employment opportunities.

Over the past year alone, hundreds of youth completed training in digital and biotech fields, more than 5 000 entrepreneurs received support through capacity-building programmes, and City-backed initiatives continued to create pathways into growing industries.

24 June 2026 (13:23) Electricity notice

Teams are attending to a number of area outages (affecting a few streets or an entire area) and planned maintenance. We apologise for the inconvenience.

The primary cause for area faults is typically damage from theft, vandalism and illegal connections. The area outages list is updated as information becomes available and is not a reflection of all outages. If it is not on the list, it doesn't mean teams aren't aware of it.

Residents in Eskom-supply areas are encouraged to log requests with Eskom.
