Bridgetown Public Library Our aim is to cultivate a culture of reading in our community and to inspire life long learning Who are we as a department?

The City currently has 101 libraries, two satellite libraries and a mobile library service. These service points not only lend books to residents but also provide them with access to electronic resources, magazines and journals, programmes in information-retrieval skills, lifelong learning and storytelling.

Want to learn more about the journey to our democracy? Bridgetown Library has a great selection of books on Freedom Day and our history. Come explore them with us.

Bridgetown Library will be joining the South African Library Week Road March on Friday, 13 March 2026 to celebrate the power of libraries in our communities! 🚶‍♀️📖

Please note that the library will open later than usual on the day.
