Digital literacy can be defined as: The ability to navigate our digital world using reading, writing, technical skills, and critical thinking. It's using technology—like a smartphone, PC, e-reader, and more—to find, evaluate, and communicate information.
The mission of the Lentegeur Library is to strengthen and expand the adult education system, and to advance women's literacy as a core value in our society and a foundation for equal opportunity and social justice.
In the Western Cape alone, there are more than thousands of adults, women who lack a matric certificate or its equivalent, english language proficiency or both.
At the Lentegeur Library, they envision a future in which every citizen, every parent, and every adult in this their community has the full range of knowledge and skills they need to secure employment, achieve economic security, support their children in school, advocate for their rights, and actively participate in the civic life of their communities.
Basic skills such as , improving their Internet, Digital Literacy, CV creation, Email creation, research skills, search strategy are all part of changing the lives of many women who would like to.
