Hosted the charming Consuelo Roland - Author this morning and a good time was had by all! Thanks to a kind donation, we will soon stock Wolf trap and Lady Limbo. Please do revisit this wonderful author, her writing is readable literary fiction, and she's South African.

Calling all book lovers - I’d like to share the interesting books the staff read for our monthly book discussion this morning. The theme was Voices from the past (fiction or non fiction) in the form of letters or diaries.
Most of the books are available in the library -please enquire at the desk.

Thank you Dolly for your legacy📚📘📚📘

💔📚 What a loss. Dolly Parton was so much more than a legendary singer, songwriter, and entertainer. She was someone who understood the power of a story and made it her mission to put books into the hands of children.

In 1995, Dolly started the Imagination Library, inspired by her father, who never had the opportunity to learn to read and write. Today, the program sends a free, age appropriate book every month to registered children from birth through age five, regardless of their family’s income.

And what a beautiful legacy that is. She didn’t just tell stories. She helped make sure generations of children would have the opportunity to discover them.

If you have a little one under five, check to see if the Imagination Library is available in your area. It takes just a few minutes to register, and the books are completely free.

Thank you, Dolly, for giving so many children the gift of books and for leaving behind a legacy that will live on in the stories we read and the dreams they inspire. ❤️
