Lt Genl Patekile’s legacy will be his protection of crooked, ill-disciplined cops; something that really affect the good cops’ morale. In a parliamentary reply, he / Mag Genl Voskuil, through the Acting Minister of Police, tells me these cars are in for “repairs. Lies! The one, a Nissan Hardbody NP300, was written off on 25 April. This question was answered this week. So who is lying? They other car, a Polo, was crashed by the same guy early in May and is still waiting a decision. I saw the Polo … its another write off. And then, there is the theft charge and helping an accused escape. Why are these people still in the SAPS?
