Millions of children started home libraries because of Dolly Parton’s commitment to early literacy.

For more than three decades, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library has mailed books directly to young children around the world — creating more opportunities for reading, connection, and learning.

Today, we remember and honor Dolly for a lifetime of advocacy and for the generations of young readers her vision will continue to inspire. In her words, “You can never get enough books into the hands of enough children.” We couldn't agree more. 📚❤️‍🩹

Science week concluded last week and we had young and little library lovers visiting us to take part in science activities!

We hosted some teens for a robotics workshop and also introduced unplugged coding to the younger ones!

We had tons of fun through learning!

Dear Library Lovers, 💙

We have a little housekeeping to do! 🧹📖

Fish Hoek Library will be closed from Monday, 24 August to Saturday, 29 August for our annual stocktake.

We’ll be counting, checking, tidying and making sure all our wonderful books are where they’re supposed to be. (Yes… even the ones that seem to have developed little legs! 👀😂)

We’ll be back on Monday, 31 August, ready to welcome you, your bookish adventures and your never-ending “just one more book” requests. 😉 - We're here for this though!

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we give our collection some much-needed TLC. ❤️
