As part of our youth program, the library hosted a safety awareness session where a police officer spoke to the children about personal safety and staying safe on social media. The session was both informative and engaging for the youth in our community.

Our young readers enjoyed a fun and interactive session learning about the sounds of letters 🔤✨

Through engaging activities, they explored how letters sound, helping them build strong reading skills step by step. It’s always wonderful to see their confidence grow as they learn and have fun together!

🤖✨ Coding & Robotics at PD Paulse Library

The Coding & Robotics Club visited our library again today, bringing exciting, hands-on learning to our young innovators! 🚀

Under the mentorship of Randal Rousseau, this programme offers FREE training in coding and robotics for different age groups:
🔹 6 Bricks – Unplugged (Grade R)
🔹 First Lego League (Grades 1–7)
🔹 First Tech Challenge (Grades 8–12)

Learners don’t just build and code — they also develop important skills like:
💡 Problem-solving
🤝 Teamwork
🗣️ Communication
🧠 Computational thinking

👨‍👩‍👧 Parents are actively involved and support their children during sessions, creating a strong sense of community.

This initiative continues to support STEAM education and empower our youth with future-ready skills. 🌟

What an exciting and impactful day at the library! 🎉📚🐾
We hosted a special programme in partnership with the Cape Town Metropolitan Police Department’s Social Crime Prevention Unit, featuring a Drug Awareness Dog Show and presentation.

Learners from Good Hope Primary and Sarepta Primary joined us, with 50 learners in attendance.

The day was filled with learning and fun, including storytelling, a library orientation, digital literacy activities, a membership drive, card-making, and even some PlayStation time!

A big thank you to our partners for helping educate and inspire our young learners about making safe and responsible choices. 💚

🐉✨ Dragon Adventures at the Library! ✨🐉

Today we had a magical time at the library with Sunrise Educare! The little ones enjoyed a fun dragon-themed story session, followed by an exciting arts and crafts activity where they created their very own colourful dragons using paper offcuts. 🎨🔥

Their creativity, laughter, and bright imaginations truly brought the library to life! Thank you to Sunrise Educare for spending the morning with us – we loved every moment! 💚📚
